Chapter 8: Birthday

"I was born on May 17th. Norwegian independence day. Why?" Lucy asked, looking up at Mathias. He just smiled. "I wanna do something for you." Lucy smiled softly and kissed Mathias's cheek. "You're a fucking cinnamon roll Dan." She put her feet on the couch and curled up next to Mathias.

The two have been together for a month. Gilbert and Emily have been up their asses since.

Lucy's birthday was a week away...

She was out doing something which means Mathias had enough time to talk to her parents. "So you guys are ok with me getting one for her?" Lucy's mom nods. "We don't mind." She said with a smile as she got in the car with Lucy's dad. Mathias smiles and waves. "Thanks! See ya in 2 weeks!" He said, going back inside of his house. They were going on a business trip.

Mathias took out his phone and calls Lucy. "Eup?" "Ey your parents just left." He said. "Oh...is that all?" Lucy asked. "Yea. Just thought you should know." Lucy nodded. "Ok. I'm heading back now." "Ok." Mathias said, sitting on the couch...well flopping. "Jeg elsker dig, Mat." The Dane's blue eyes widened. "You learned Danish?" He asked. "Yes. I'm still learning though." Mathias smiled. "Awesome. I'll see you in a bit." "Bia."

-Lucy's birthday-

Mathias, Emily, Gilbert and about 6 other were running around getting things set up in Lucy's house before she got home. It was only 10 people there, counting Lucy so it can't be that bad.

Lucy walks into the house and instantly gets side hugged by her adorable Danish boyfriend. She makes a weird scream and flails to the wall, laughing. Emily smiled seeing her sister so happy. She hasn't been very happy...that all changed when Mathias came into her life.

Lucy hits Mathias's arm. "Stop doing that every time I walk in!" She tries to keep a straight face but fails terribly. Mathias shrugs. "Sorry. Happy birthday, min dronning." He says with a smile. He kisses her cheek quickly, causing her to blush and smile. "Thank you Dan."

Everyone literally pops out from behind the couches, yelling 'Happy birthday'. Lucy screams again and smiles. "OK THEN!" Emily gives Lucy a piece of paper. "Happy birthday big sister." She said. "You're welcome." Lucy smiles. "Finally."

After everyone gives Lucy something, eat stuff and all that jazz, Mathis stands up from one of the couches. "I have one more thing for you." He runs out the back door and comes back in with a Husky puppy with big, beautiful blue eyes. Lucy's eyes lit up. "You've been wanting one soooo I got one for you." He says with a smile.

Lucy smiles and hugs him. "Thank you thank you thank you thank! GUH IT'S ADORABLE!" She says plopping herself on the floor next to the pup. Mathias smiled wider. "Thank you Mathias...I love you." "I love you too."
