Chapter 11: Surprises

2 days after Mathias's birthday

Mathias was curled around Lucy protectivly as she hugged his large arm between her arms and legs. She woke up a few times but just ended up falling back asleep after a while.

It was about 11 am when Lucy actually got out of bed. She looked at Mathias, who was still sleeping. She smiles and kisses his head. "Maaat get up." She whispers to him. He takes in a deep breath with his eyes still. He pulls her down onto him and kisses her face. "Good morning~." He smiles. "Good morning Dan." Lucy kisses his nose with a wider smile.

"Do you want to do something tonight?" Mathias asks, sitting up. Lucy nods and smiles. "Sure. But I gotta go to the store though. I needa get some things for my place and bring something to Em's place." She stands up and goes over to the door. "I keep forgetting your parents and your sister moved." She smiles. "Yeah but I wanna move out soon. Welp I gotta go. See ya in a few hours." Lucy runs over to Mat and kisses him before leaving.

-time skip to later tonight after dinner-

Mathias intertwines his fingers with Lucy's. They were out walking in the plaza at around 8 pm. It was an active place. It was lit with decorative lights and a few lampposts. It was nice. "I'm surprised I've never been here before." Lucy says, looking around. She rests her head on his shoulder.

Mathias smiles and put his free hand in his pocket. "Hey...Lucy. I've been meaning to say something to you." "And what is that?" Mathias took a deep breath and started walking slower. "Lucy, we've known each other for so long. Been together for so many years. I-I love you so much and I feel like I haven't done a very good job showing that. So I wanted to make up for it now."

Every word that came out of Mathias's mouth made Lucy smile. Her face was a little red. "And there's something I've been wanting to ask you..." Mathias stops completely in front of a fountain and faces Lucy. He slowly lowers down onto one knee. He pulls out a box from his pocket. Lucy's eyes widened and started to water. Mathias opens up the box to reveal a ring. "Will you marry me?"

A few people ended up staying to wait for Lucy's answer. A person or two were recording. Lucy smiles and nods. "Yes." The Dane smiles and stands up quickly to hug her. "Mathias...I have something to tell you now." She looks up at him with a smile.

"I'm pregnant."
