It was a beautiful day outside. Birds are singing and the sun is shining happily, warming the people walking on the streets. For being the start of fall, it was still surprisingly warm outside with nice and peaceful weather. With it being the beginning of fall, school was starting, in fact, today was the first day for most high school students.

Inside of a nicely kept apartment room, Demise lay curled up under his blanket, sound asleep and with no care in the world. At least, that was true until his alarm went off with a loud ~Bzzzzztttttttt~ sound. Demise groaned as he reached his hand out of the warm pile to turn off his alarm. "Ugh... Five more minutes..." he said with a groan as he turned off his alarm and went back to sleep.

A few seconds after he had fallen asleep, Demise was woken by another alarm. But this one wasn't coming from the normal clock he used, this one was coming from his phone. Demise groaned again as he reached out and grabbed his phone, answering the call.

"Hello?" A sweet voice greeted him from the other end of the phone. "Hey, are you awake?" The voice asked.

"Huh?" Demise sat up as he realized who it was. It was his childhood best friend, Fiona. She had been Demise's best friend since elementary. "Oh, uh. Hi Fiona. Yeah, I'm awake."

He heard a sigh from the other side of the phone.

"You were sleeping in, weren't you?" Fiona asked.

"Well I was trying..."

Fiona simply sighed to his response. She figured she should be used to this behavior after knowing him for so long but even still, it got annoying sometimes.

"Come on, you don't want to be late on the first day of school, do you? She asked him. Even though he couldn't see her face, Demise knew she had a small smirk on her face.

"Fine." He simply replied. Fiona always knew how to get him motivated.

"Perfect! I'll see you when you get here, Demi!" For being the first day of school, she was extremely excited.

"I told you not to call me that..." He mumbled under his breath, barely audible. Demi was a nickname she gave him ever since they first met. He gave up on trying to get her to not call him that.

After getting dressed Demise went to his kitchen to make breakfast. "Bacon pancakes. Makin' Bacon Pancakes..." He quietly sung as he made the meal.

After eating Demise checked the time, thinking that he was still good and would make it to school on time. "Shit! It's 7:30, class starts in 15 minutes and I still need to figure out where my first class even is!"

Demise grabbed his bag and ran outside into the streets to rush to school, nearly getting hit by a car a few times. Since he didn't have a car yet he had to walk to school. While running he checked the time again.

"7:40... Damnit..." He swore under his breath as he reached the school at 7:40, not stopping. He quickly went to the school office to figure out his first class.

By the time he got to class it was 7:50 so the lesson had already begun.

"Ahh yes. There you are Demise, a little late are we?" The teacher said it an unidentifiable voice. It wasn't quite anger but not joyful at the same time. "If you would please, your seat is at the back of the room by the window. If you'd be so kind as to sit down we could properly begin the lesson, preferably without any further interruptions."

A few of the students in the class let out snickers. Demise didn't bother to make eye contact with anybody as he went to his seat, he wasn't embarrassed, just pissed off that the teacher would say that. He could tell that he wouldn't like this class. He let out a sigh as he leaned back in his chair to take a nap, all that running made him tired.
