When the next morning came around it was very similar to the previous morning. The sun was shining and people were smiling, heading out to accomplish what they needed to do that day. The only thing really different about today was that it was getting colder, fall was starting to creep up on the town. But that didn't stop people from enjoying their day.

Inside Demise was curled up under his blanket, just like the previous day. When his alarm went off he did the exact same thing as the previous day as well. He simply reached out from under his lump and hit the alarm off, going back to sleep right after. Unknowingly to Demise, it had been a half hour before he got a call on his phone. Unable to ignore the constant ringing and vibrating he answered the call.

"Demise! Where the fuck are you?! Class has already started!" he heard the voice say. He realized it was Kai who had called him.

Demise sat up quickly on his bed. "Kai? What? Damnit." The words finally registered in his mind as he quickly got out of bed to get ready, leaving his phone on his bed. "Demise? Demise?" Kai called out to no avail. He finally gave up and ended the call.

Demise wasted no time getting ready. He knew that his friends and teachers were going to get on him for being late, especially Fiona. She hated that he was late to school the majority of the time. After showering and getting dressed, Demise grabbed his bag and some toast that burnt while he was in the shower. He sighed as he ran outside and rushed to get to school. By the time he got there, his first class was halfway over.

"Glad you came to join us Demise." was all he heard his teacher say when he entered the room. When his sat down Melody didn't bother to ask him why he was late, she could tell that he was pissed off.

The first half of the day went fairly fast. At least, until the class right before lunch. To Demise, that class was taking forever. He eventually got tired enough to put his head down on his desk and drift asleep.

When he was awoken it wasn't by any calming or nice way. No, he was woken by the sound of a loud thud right next to him. He quickly shot up to see that Fiona was standing next to his desk and she seemed upset. It also looked like she was the one who slammed the book to wake him up.

"You were sleeping in class again? And you got to school late! I bet you didn't even write down the notes, did you?!" There was slight anger in her voice.

"It's all good, I got most of the notes down, I'll just pick up the rest from Kai at lunch. Speaking of Kai, he's the one who called me this morning instead of you, what's the deal with that?" Demise started packing up his stuff to leave

"What's the deal?! You need to learn to start taking care of yourself! You need to stop relying on everybody else to solve your problems!" Fiona practically shouted, lucky for her the classroom was empty so nobody heard.

"Hey, chill out Fiona. Why are you getting so mad anyways? It's the first week of school. I've slept in class almost every day since the beginning of high school and always passed just fine. It's not like my bad grades affect you anyways."

"You've barely been passing with C's and D's!" Tears started to well up in Fiona's eyes. "It's our last year of high school, I would have thought you would have matured enough by now to see why you need to fix your grades. You were such a good kid in middle school. You always were a straight A student. What ever happened to that? And what about the four of us going to college together once we graduate? Don't you care about your friends, or do you really think that your grades don't affect us?! Do you just not care about us anymore?? Are we not good enough?!" Fiona couldn't hold back the tears anymore as she ran out of the class leaving Demise behind to think about what just happened.
