As Fiona got home she simply said 'Thank-you' to Kai before heading inside. When she was inside she flopped on her bed and looked up at her bland-white ceiling. She could feel the tears well up in her eyes. While walking home she tried not to let them out but while home alone she had no reason to hold them back.

Everything she saw replayed in her mind. The visible damage her friend had sustained. Her own so called friends causing it. How happy her friend looked even after what happened. Tears stung her eyes before rolling down her cheek. What made it worse was that this wasn't the first time it's happened.

Fiona buried her face in her pillow recalling all of the times a similar situation like this has happened. Every couple of years since they first met, Demise has had to defend Fiona from somebody. Whether it was bullies or fake friends. That's how they first met in fact. But Demise never fought back, even though he knew how. He would just bring the attention away from Fiona and to himself so she was safe. Even if he got hurt doing so. Thinking about this made it harder for her to hold back her tears.

Three hours passed from the time Fiona got home. Rain started to pour outside, making her mood sink even more. She tried to forget all of her previous thoughts by doing homework but she couldn't get Demise off her mind. "Maybe if I just call h-" her thoughts were cut short.

Knock-Knock-Knock

"Wha-?" Fiona looked up surprised. She rubbed her eyes to try and hide any sign of her crying then forced herself off the bed with a sigh. "Just what I needed today..." After the person knocked again she decided to hurry over to the door.

She put on the best smile she could as she answered the door. "Hel- Huh? Kai?" Fiona blinked a few times and rubbed her eyes as if she couldn't believe what she was seeing. Kai was soaked from the rain. "What are you doing here?"

"I came with some gifts in case you were still feeling down." She hadn't noticed it before but he was carrying a medium, red box. "And by the looks of it, you'll need them." He laughed slightly.

"Oh yeah? And what makes you say that?!" Fiona demanded.

"Well your hair is a mess and I can tell you've been crying. Here, I hope this makes you feel better." Kai handed her the box with a big smile on his face.

Fiona opened the box and examined the contents carefully. There was a box of chocolates, a small teddy bear, a fuzzy and warm looking blanket, along with a Netflux subscription so she could watch whatever show she wanted.

Fiona laughed slightly. "What is it, Valentine's Day? It seems more like you're trying to ask me out instead of trying to make me feel better." This comment caused Kai to blush slightly.

"Well if that's what it takes to make you feel better." He replied.

This time Fiona was the one blushing. "What do you mean?"

"Fiona, let's go on a date."

"What?!" Fiona couldn't believe what she heard. She'd always liked Kai but more as a friend, not a boyfriend. "Are you serious?"

"Well, if you don't want to that's ok. But I figured it would help you feel better and maybe help you let loose and feel like your normal self again. Anyways, I need to start heading home before the rain gets worse." He started to head home until he felt Fiona grab him back.

"You don't need to go, you're already soaked. How about you spend the night instead. Plus, if you stay we can watch movies together on Netflux."

Kai thought about it for a second. "But I'm gonna need clothes for school tomorrow."

"Don't worry about it, you can wash them here and wear them tomorrow. It's not like anybody will know you wore them yesterday."

Kai knew she wanted the company so he gave in with a simple 'Alright'. After taking a shower and getting a spare pair of pajamas from Fiona, the two sat on the couch together to watch tv. Fiona said Kai could sleep on the couch that night when they got tired.
