Chapter 38: Back to Back National Champs

Nationals was Finished and now everyone was on the stage dancing as they waited for the awards to be presented to the ones who did well and the dancing stopped when the awards were about to be announced.

"All righty, let's start with our petite soloist division." The announcer said and he read off places 10-3 and now it came to the top two mini solo dancers who danced their hearts out. "Our second place petite soloist goes to Mackenzie from the Abby Lee Dance Company with Overpowered."

Melissa sulked as she saw her younger daughter get up to receive her trophy, she was now hoping that Maddie got first place in her division to get back in Abby and Connor's favor as Mackenzie sat back down to hear who won first.

"And first place in the petite soloist division goes to Brooke Kosinski from the Abby Lee Dance Company with Neon Lights!" Brookie got a hug from Mackenzie as she got up to receiver her first place trophy, becoming the petite soloist national champion as Hollie had a smile on her face.

"Congrats, Brookie Cookie." Mackenzie told her friend.

"Thanks, Kenzie." Brookie replied.

"Yay, Brookie!" Hollie cheered.

"Way to go, Little Brooke!" Connor stated, then the next portion of the awards was the Junior Soloist Division awards.

"Now we're going to move on to our Junior Soloist Division awards." The announcer told everyone. "Here we go, in tenth...." After tenth place through third place were announced and Justice from Candy Apples didn't place at all, it came down to the top two dancers as Maddie was hoping that she would be first and Chloe would be second.

"Why am i not surprised that Justice didn't place?" Connor whispered to Abby. "Oh wait, the Candy Apples suck."

"That they do." Abby agreed.

"I can't believe Justice didn't place." Tanya groaned.

"Me either, i thought he would have blown Maddie and Chloe out of the park. But don't worry, we'll get them in the group division." Cathy said.

"In second place is Moments in Love by Maddie from the Abby Lee Dance Company!" Maddie got up to receive her award as Abby and Connor looked on and clapped while Melissa clapped as well, but in the back of the minds of Abby and Connor, that was the first to lose.

"And our overall first place junior soloist is Chloe from the Abby Lee Dance Company with Life Can Be Like The Movies!" Chloe got up with a smile on her face to receive her trophy, it was her second straight national title and she had a humble look on her face to show that she appreciated it.

"Yeah, Chloe!" Connor cheered as he, Abby, Gianna, Christi and the other moms cheered.

"Go Chlobird!" Christi stated, seeing her daughter win another national title.

"Whooo!" Abby cheered.

"Awesome job, Chloe!" Gianna added and after that, it was now time for the lsat awards of the day to be presented and that was the group dance awards.

"I thought the solos we had would place." Kelli lamented to Cathy.

"Me too." Cathy admitted, then the group dance awards were next and places 10 to 3 were announced and now, it was time to see who was the national champion and would be second place.

"Our runner up is by Singin' In The Rain the Candy Apples Dance Center." The Candy Apples got up to receive their award, but they had disappointed looks on their faces and they sat back down.
