::Chapter Six- Let Me Help You::
I woke up the next morning with the sun streaming down on me. I was back in my room; I guessed Junnie brought me back upstairs. The last thing I remembered was listening to my mom and Lexie sobbing, I must have fallen asleep on the staircase.
The clock on my night stand said it was only 6 in the morning, so instead of sleeping some more, I decided to get up and to make some breakfast. I went to our kitchen, instead of the main kitchen, afraid of what I would find. I found Jake sitting on one of the bar stools on the island with a coffee. He wore his gray sweatpants and a white wife beater. His hair looked messy and all over the place, his eyes looked tired and sleepy.
“Oppa,” I used the term of endearment that I loathe to use so much. I sat next to him on the stool.
“Hm?” he smiled softly without taking his eyes away from his silent, blank phone.
“Lexie?” I asked.
“I dropped her off at her aunt’s last night after we were done talking.” He replied. “Don’t worry about us. We’ll be fine. Mama and Papa’s reactions were better than I thought. Of course Mama cried and Papa got upset, but if they hadn’t, I would’ve been even more worried.”
“Is she moving in?” I asked.
“Her aunt’s family’s not treating her so well; it would only be for her and the baby’s best interest if she were to stay with us. Mama is still not letting me move out but at least I can watch over Lexie better if she were with us. And I really would feel so much better if she were to go to school with you, that way I’d know, even if I wasn’t there to watch over her, you and Junnie would. Mama and I will go to her school today to start the transfer process; she should be able to go to Buckingham Academy by Thursday. She’ll move in tonight.” He looked at me then, “You’ll help her, right?”
“Of course,” I promised.
“Jun can take you to school today,” Jake said, getting up from his stool. “I have to go get ready to go to Lexie’s school and take care of the transfer. I’ll see you at dinner, sis.”
I made a quick breakfast before running back to my room to take a shower. I quickly did my make-up and tried to make something out of my still wet hair before slipping into my uniform. I grabbed my back pack and ran back to our kitchen where Junnie was already waiting in his basketball shorts and white V-neck shirt.
“What took you so fucking long?” he asked with a mouthful of French toast.
“Do you enjoy cussing that much, Junnie?” I asked, grabbing myself a toast.
“I have an image to uphold, DeLuca,” he replied coyly. “Are you ready?”
We walked down to the garage, arguing about every little thing there is to argue.
“Oh, please, Lee, don’t flatter yourself, no one sober would ‘tap that’ if they were to choose between life and death,” I argued on the subject of his, as he so kindly put it, “tight behind.”
“You’re just in denial, DeLuca,” he argued, “you know you want me since the very first time you gave laid your eyes on me 15 years ago. You’re the first little thing that would tap this.”
“Oh, please, spare me of your pervyness.”
“Is that even a word?” he joked as we walked in the garage, “C’mon I know you’re smarter than that.” He grabbed a key to my mom’s metallic Hyundai Equus like he had done it multiple times before.
