::Chapter Three- No Attractions Whatsoever::

            Junsu and I came back to our flat in just enough time for me to take a shower and do my make-up and hair. To be honest, I was excited to see Junnie’s family, but eating dinner with a fashion designer like Junnie’s mom has its own disadvantages. For example, even though it was only a simple dinner, I was required to dress all out. That’s why Mom packed a suitcase JUST for the clothes I was supposed to wear for meeting Junnie’s mom.

            I got out a brand new BCBG Maxazria overlay gown to wear. It was a simple strapless black and white dress that came down to just above my knee with see-through materials over the dress, going all the way down to the floor. I wouldn’t consider myself the curviest girl out there, but the dress made it look like I had something to show---which I don’t. I paired the dress with a black 5-inch open-toed suede heels with golden accents by Alexander McQueen. I also had Alexander McQueen’s silver Twin Skull and Bee bracelet from last year and a silver and white Crystal Butterfly Skull Ring from his latest collection. I completed the look with McQueen’s beautiful Snowflake Knucklebox Clutch. I knew I shouldn’t cross-brand, wearing McQueen accessories and wearing BCBG, but honestly I’m not that big a fan of designer dresses and clothes. They’re just not me. Plus, the BCBG dress looked quite nice on me.

            I let my hair fall down on my sides naturally. Running a brush through my dark brown locks, I thought of putting my hair in a messy, elegant bun. I looked at the time to make sure I wasn’t going to be running late and quickly fixed my hair up. After my hair was done, I touched up my make-up a little bit. All I had on was some BB Cream and foundation, natural color eye shadows, and eyeliner. I honestly do not like it when I look like I had cemented my face with make-up, and I like the natural-naked look on my face, while putting on red or pink lip gloss to draw the attention to my lips.

            Jake and I had our driver drove us to the 63-building where we were meeting up for dinner. Junnie had left first to get ready at his home and was supposed to come go clubbing with Jake later that evening which mean I was alone at the house.

            We arrived at the building just in time for us to go up to the 53rd floor to the restaurant. We were greeted by Uncle Jun Tae, Junnie’s father and soon met Aunt SeoHyun. She made some remarks about me cross-branding products that should not be crossed, and lectured me on the difference between Mr. McQueen’s extravagant work of art and BCBG’s mediocre designs---although she loved the dress on me. Soon after, JunMi, Junnie’s older sister, came in with her husband, DongHae, and their five-months-old son, Ace.

            Looking around the table, everyone sure dressed formally. Aunt SeoHyun has always dressed formal for as long as I can remember. She had on a crème colored cocktail dress with poufy sleeves that I am sure she designed herself. Uncle Jun Tae had on his business suit, like always, but I am sure it was tailored just for him by some Italian designer or something. Junmi had on a red Marylyn Monroe-style dress and her husband’s blazer. Donghae wore formal black slacks and a simple white button-up shirt with a red tie to match Junmi’s dress. My brother had on dark denim jeans with a baby button-up shirt made for him by Aunt SeoHyun herself. After about thirty minutes of waiting for Junnie, he came in in dark denim jeans, white V-neck shirt, black leather jacket, a loosen black tie around his neck, and a pair of white Gucci Rebound high top. He looked like a rebel. A hot rebel.

            What was I thinking? Junnie was my friend and nothing more and no way in hell was I supposed to be thinking of how hot he looks and everything. I mean seriously, it’s Jun, the guy who had a crush on me when I was little and I’m Haera, I don’t like guys who likes me. That’s just not how I’m wired.

            “Sorry I’m late, guys,” Junnie’s voice boomed. “I had a little situation at work.” He gave his mom a kiss on the cheek before settling himself in front of me. “What are we eating?”

            Our waiter came back to take our order and we finally ordered. I was hungry. Even though, Junsu and I already ate earlier that day, I was really, really hungry. Sometime during dinner, Aunt SeoHyun and Uncle Jun Tae had just five glass of wine too many. They became fun, but it was a bit embarrassing. The guys were in a deep conversation about cars in fast Korean that I would never undesrtand. JunMi and I were playing with Ace, when I noticed how tired she looked. She had told me about the pain of having a baby and how she and her husband don’t even go on dates anymore.

            Once we were done eating and was about to part, I offered to watch over Ace for the weekend if JunMi and DongHae wanted to go on a quick gateway. I knew it was hard enough for her to have some alone time with her husband because of the paparazzi, but having a baby added on to that. After long talks of the do’s and don’t’s, I was suddenly a nanny for the weekend. We didn’t get to hear where Junsu was transferring because Aunty and Uncle were too drunk to understand what we were asking.

            For that weekend, while Jake and Junsu wandered around being their weird selves, I was home with Ace. I took Ace to the park on the stroller a couple of times, and I would go to Junsu’s work to visit him during his lunch break. Sometimes, I would sit on the couch with Ace while Junsu directed a mere ten feet away from us. We watched Jake coming up with new choreography with the dance teacher from the day before. And before we knew it, we were packing our bag again ready to leave for the States the next day.

            Ten hours before we were supposed to head to the airport, we met Aunt SeoHyun for brunch. She was sober enough this time to tell us the surprise of where Junsu was transferring to. I had Ace in my arms, cooing along with him, Jake was seating on my left looking through his camera, and Junsu was seating on my right literally begging for Ace’s attention.

            “Oh, Junsu, are you already packed?” Aunt SeoHyun asked.

            “Packed?” Junsu questioned, not taking his eyes off of Ace’s. “Where am I going again, Mum?”

            “Migug!” she exclaimed. We all looked up at her answer---she had said, the States. “You are transferring to Haera’s school. Yuna and I agreed on letting you stay at their house for the time being until you graduate then you can find your own home and you can move away if you want to. But we think it best if you were to stay with the DeLucas for the time being. Plus, you would have Haera to show you around the school and everything if needed.”

            “So, wait…” Junsu stated slowly, “I’m not moving to Russia, but to States?”

            “Well, yes. Why would you think I would send you off to Russia?”

            “Because JunMi was sent away to Russia.” He looked away from his mom and grinned at me and Jake. Jake had on an almost similar stupid grin on his face. And I was just there, looking at Ace’s round eyes, digesting what was going on.

            Junnie, the boy that used to have a crush on me, the boy that turned smoking hot in just years, was going to move in with me. And I was not sure if I would find the key or not. Junnie, after all, I have known him for years. Maybe he was different. I know he was different. What I didn’t know was whether or not he sees me the way he used to.
