Chapter 2

People say that death is a new beginning. I say that is total b.s. My parents were murdered in front of my own eyes, and I am supposed to think about this as if it is a new opportunity? No way, my parents just died and I am surrounded by black as I watch them get buried side-by-side in the ground. Everyone keeps saying 'I'm so sorry for your loss, they were great people' Do these people think that this is going to make me feel any better? Reminding me that I am now an orphan, orphan I have no parents. No! That's not true, just because they aren't alive, doesn't mean that they are not my parents, they will always be my parents and no one can ever replace them!

After the funeral Jack and I went back to our older brother, Kale's house with his newly wed wife. It has been extremely difficult on all of us, especially when Kale and Julia decided to become our legal guardians and take Jack and I in. When we pulled up at our new home, the first thing that I noticed was that the study had been cleared out, and a bed, my bed and some drawers were in there instead. I haven't been here too many time, but enough to know that what used to be the crowded, work study, is now my bedroom. All of my clothes are in my drawers, but none of the clothes filling them are quite too my taste anymore.

"I'm going down to the mall, I'll see you guys later." I yelled, letting everyone know that I was going out. I decided that since I was starting at a new school, why not start over again, I mean, no one knows who I really am, and no one is going to question me. I spent the day buying a new wardrobe, got a new hair cut, bought contacts and even bought some makeup, because, why not?

When I got home, everyone was on the lounge, watching tv and looking really lifeless.

"I'm back!" I yelled to let them know of my presence in the house.

"Ooh, what did you get?" An excited Julia asked.

"Just a couple of things for school, I'll show you if you want?"

" Yes! I'll be up in a sec."

I went upstairs to my bedroom and placed all of my shopping bags down beside my bed and waited for Julia to come up, so that I could show her all of my new things.

After showing, Julia my new wardrobe, I went downstairs, had some dinner and then planned to go back upstairs and go to sleep, but I mean doing something that simple isn't an option for me now, is it?

Jack and Kale wanted to make sure that I was ok, and that I wasn't having a mental breakdown. Please, even if I was, there is no way that they would know, I am way too skilled.

"Are you sure that you're all right?" Kale asked.

"Yes, I'm fine. Well no, I'm not. Bt I mean what can you expect for someone who witnessed... Their parents murder?" I finished lifelessly.

Kale and Jack gave me a hug. It was nice. It felt like we were a family again. Except without mum and dad.

"I like your new hair cut." Jack said when he pulled back from the hug.

"Thanks, I thought I would try something new."

When I finally made it back upstairs from my little family reunion, I crashed as soon as my head hit the pillow.

Authors Note

Ok,so this chapter is merely a filler, so that we can get to the main part of the story. I hope that the chapter is long enough, as the other ones, have been quite short. Umm... Yeah, I can't think of anything else. Please leave a comment, as I am not too confident in my writing and I don't know if I am boring the reader (you), so please let me know your thoughts. Yeah... I don't know what else to write.
