Chapter 3

Troy's POV

I can't believe she beat me again. Why did I have to kiss her? It's all I've been thinking about since it happened. Nothing like this has ever happened before, so why now? Now all of my friends are teasing me about losing to a girl again in gym. I have a new idea that we can do that I'm sure that she won't beat me in: boxing. If I bribe the coach he'll know that I need to bring my ego back from losing twice to Selena. Coach understands that a guy isn't supposed to lose to a girl or else they'll feel like a girl.

Getting ready for school I rush downstairs and take my breakfast with me. I hop into my car and take off to school. And as per usual my "fan girls" are right there to greet me. It's funny how they're all so desperate to jump my bones when they know that they're not getting anything. Yeah we make out but nothing pass that. As cheesy as it sounds I want to save myself for someone special, someone that I love and respect. My mom told me that her and my dad saved themselves for each other and I thought it was sweet, after I got over the awkwardness of hearing that coming from my parents' mouths.

I walk up to my friends and we do the bro hug and walk to class. I've never noticed that I had Selena in this class until I see her smirk at me from the back of the class.

I glare at her and sit in my usual seat in the middle of the class and get my Do Now done before the teacher comes into the classroom. When he does he passes out our surprise pop quiz and everyone groans especially me. I've never been that good in school so this surprise is the cherry on top of things that I love *note the sarcasm*. Great, this is just great. As if I needed this in my life right now. First I lose to a girl twice if I must say it again. I might've lost to a girl but at least she's hot. After thirty minutes of this brutal quiz I turn it in and the bell finally rings for our next class. I have a free period so I go to the coaches office and find him on the court shooting hoops.

"Hey coach," I call out. When he doesn't reply I call out louder so that he can hear me. He turns and it's now that I see he had earphones in his ear.

"What's up Vega?"

"I have an idea that we can do for class today, think about it before you deny it."

"Okay what is it?"

"Boxing."

"Actually I was thinking the same thing, I was watching some last night and it just came to me."

"Okay cool I have a request for who I want to go against today."

"Who is it?"

"Selena Rios that's who, I'm tired of losing to her and my dad is disappointed in me for losing to a girl."
He thinks about it for a second before a smile breaks onto his face, "Okay kid I'll let you fight her but go a little easy on her she's a girl."

"I got it coach thanks for this, I'll make sure to win this time," and with that I run out of the class in a better mood than I was in this morning. I walk out of the gym and pass by the weight room and stop when I hear someone in there. I peek in through the slit of the curtains and I'm surprised to see its Selena. She's picking up weights that guys would do, I have a feeling that she won't go easy on me today when we box. I watch her for a minute there before I run to the locker rooms and change. I whistle as I get there and pretend to be surprised to see her there. I have a feeling that she'll act like the kiss never happened which'll probably break my heart a little.

"Selena, what are you doing here?"

She jumps when she turns around and finds me there. What's up with people and earphones today?

"Troy, what are you doing here?"

"I asked you first so I'll ask again, what are you doing here?"
