I put the bowl to my lips, lit it and sucked in as much smoke as I could. Wishing the high would come,  I set the bowl down on the floor along with my lighter. I let the smoke slowly out of my lungs.

My vision was starting to get blurry. Sometimes when I get high everything starts to spin. It freaked me out at first but lately its been my comfort.

My parents have been fighting more than a married couple should. Like the kind where people get hurt. Including me. Right now my arms are covered in bruises along with my ribs. Some healing, some fresh.

I'm now sitting in my tree house. Me, my brother and sister built it over the summer. Its kind of like our sanctuary. A place we come and go with no rules. Except for the 'NO PARENTS' sign stapled to the trap door.

The little windows with purple drapes let in cool breezes. It was probably midnight. The chirping of the insects outside were annoying me.

I'll call it a night, I guess.
