"May I get a haircut please, Kookie?"
Jungkook glanced at Jimin briefly before returning his attentions back to his computer where his work was being done.

The silence was heavy as Jimin fumbled nervously outside of Jungkook's study. Jimin wouldn't usually bother Jungkook when he was working, but Jungkook headed straight to his study right after he came home, which didn't give Jimin time to tell Jungkook about his request. Jimin's hair had grown for the past year without any trimming and his bangs were beginning to tickle his nose. Long story short, Jimin was in desperate need to get a haircut and couldn't wait any longer to ask Jungkook.

The silence had dragged on for at least five minutes now without any response from Jungkook, making Jimin nervous a little. True, Jungkook strictly told Jimin not to come in and bother Jungkook when he was in his study, but Jimin was technically standing outside the study, so he didn't break any rules. Another five minutes had passed without a sound and Jimin was beginning to panic.

Maybe I shouldn't have bothered him today. Kookie just came back from work and might have had a stressful day. I'm probably making him suffer by asking him for a haircut when he's busy.

...Is he mad at me?

The silence was becoming unbearable as Jimin swayed slightly to give his bare feet some rest from standing so stiffly for the past ten minutes. The wooden flooring creaked audibly from the movement, breaking the dead silence. Jimin flinched slightly from the sudden sound, startled.

As Jimin flinched from the surprise, Jungkook took his eyes away from the screen to stare directly at Jimin. Like a deer caught in the headlights, Jimin froze under Jungkook's piercing gaze. Jungkook lifted an eyebrow at his timid boyfriend before looking back down at his computer. Desperate to not have to go through another horribly awkward silence, Jimin spoke again louder.

"Kookie, please, I really need a hairc-"

"I heard you the first time,"

Jungkook's gaze never left the screen as he spoke to Jimin for the first time in two days.

"And you already know the answer, no."

Jimin stiffened at Jungkook's blunt answer. Looking back at it, Jungkook always denied Jimin's request for haircut until his hair was long enough that it reached the nape of his neck.

Jungkook never let Jimin out of the house, even for a haircut. He was the one that always cut Jimin's hair. Jimin was hoping that maybe this time, Jungkook would give him a haircut, even if it was just up to his ears. Due to the humid weather these days, Jimin's hair was beginning to bother him. He was willing to beg Jungkook to cut it if that's what it takes. Jimin took in a shaky breath before asking about again.

"Kookie, I promise. I won't ask you again, but please, my hair is really bothering me..."

Jungkook huffed out a breath before finally pushing himself away from his desk and began walking toward Jimin. Jimin's heart began to beat faster as he watched Jungkook approaching him. With a rather bored look, Jungkook ran his hands through Jimin's hair before idly playing with the long strands. Jimin stayed frozen the whole time as he let the sensation of having his hair stroked fill him.

Maybe I should keep my hair long. Maybe Kookie won't let me get my haircut often because he likes my hair long and not cause-

"I said no, I'm not giving you a haircut. You know how annoying it is to cut your hair, so I don't know why you're even asking. Don't be stupid."

As Jungkook said this, he tugs Jimin's hair hard enough to make Jimin cringe from the pain. Jungkook smoothens out the locks of hair he tugged before resuming to play with Jimin's hair.

In fear of having his hair pulled again and ashamed of annoying Jungkook, Jimin began to stammer out an apology.

"I- I'm sorry for asking you to give me a haircut. I won't bother you again."

The stroking against Jimin's hair stopped. Jimin tensed up in anticipation of another hard tug, but none came. Jungkook's hand remained on Jimin as he appraised his hair with a slight smirk on his lips. A small glint in Jungkook's eyes appeared and he stared Jimin down, hard. A small shudder ran through Jimin as he stared at his lover. He knew that look well enough to know what it means, Jungkook was angry. Really angry. Electricity flashed through Jungkook's piercing gaze as Jimin cringed in fear. Then, Jungkook's expression changed back into an empty one. He sighed as he spoke,

"You're so high maintenance sometimes. You cause too much work for me, you know."

     "I-I'm so-sorry..."

"Since you've been good recently, I'll give you a haircut if you want one so badly."

The once gentle hand that rested on Jimin's head curled up in a fist grasping Jimin's hair as Jungkook turned and began to walk toward the veranda, with Jimin dragged behind. A cry of pain escaped Jimin's lips as he stumbled behind Jungkook, clutching onto his boyfriend's arms. On the way to the veranda, Jungkook snagged the newspaper that was left on the dining table last night and a pair of scissors from the kitchen drawer, Jimin was still struggling against Jungkook's vice-like grip on his hair. After sliding the screen door to the veranda, Jungkook promptly pulled out a chair and pushed Jimin onto it. While Jimin rubbed his tender scalp, Jungkook methodically tucked the newspaper into the collar of Jimin's shirt. Goosebumps formed as Jimin sucked in a startled breath from the sudden contact. Jungkook picked up the scissors and after tilting Jimin's head side to side, he began cutting the ends. The air was still and quiet except for the snips of the scissors and the sound of hairs drifting to the vendena floor.

Jimin stared quietly at the floor as he watched his once overgrown hair pile onto the ground. His head was jerked up sharply by Jungkook as he began to work on Jimin's bangs. Forced to look upwards, Jimin's eyes wandered till they rested on the mirror that was hanging on the opposite wall.

He never really cared about the way he looked, so looking at his own reflection wasn't the reason why he was fixated on what was being reflected. Jimin was staring at Jungkook through the mirror as Jungkook concentrated at his task at hand. Jimin loved the way Jungkook's eyes lowered when he was concentrating, the way his lips would purse slightly. There wasn't a time when Jimin wasn't in love with Jungkook. There wasn't a life worth living before he met Jungkook. Even if Jungkook gets angry and violent sometimes, Jimin still loved him over everything.

He was his entire world.

Jungkook began to hum a small tune that Jimin didn't recognize. It might have been a recent song that came out since Jimin couldn't turn on a radio when it was just him at home. The song was sweet and had a relaxed tone that infused itself in Jimin's bones. Jimin leaned slightly back in the chair as Jungkook brushed off some of the hair that clung to the newspaper on Jimin's shirt. As Jungkook hummed quietly to himself and continued to cut his boyfriend's hair for the fifth time since they began living together, Jimin closed his eyes and committed himself to the first peaceful moment with Jungkook this week.

Life is good.
