A/N: For  Bella's dad I have used another character from another TV show. THIS IS NOT A CROSS OVER! This story will have nothing to do with the other show that is about to be brought in. I only used that character and I do not own that character. The only characters I own in this story at this moment are Bella and her dog Bear. Enjoy!

Chapter4 Surprise

It was noon on Christmas Eve and Charlie was putting me in the back seat of his car blindfolded. I only went with him willingly because I trusted him and blind folded or not I could kick his ass. I was trying to teach him self-defense but he was a little uncoordinated. "Hello Don," I said as I was placed in the back seat.

"How did you know I was here?" Don asked. He sounded surprised. I tried to restrain a scoffing noise from leaving my mouth. Apparently this FBI agent wasn't aware on how to be aware of his surroundings. I would have to start another class at the FBI academy. Awareness was a huge part of self-defense.

"I could smell your shampoo. Always be aware of your surroundings," I said putting my seat belt on. Charlie pulled out of my drive way and headed for the highway. I started counting miles.

"What are you doing?" Don asked. I hadn't realized I had been counting out loud.

"I'm drawing a map. Why are we heading for the airport?"

"You can draw a map even if you can't see where you're going?" Charlie asked and I could feel his eyes on me.

"Eyes on the road professor," I said nodding towards the windshield. When I could no longer feel his eyes on me I answered his question. "Yes, I can draw a map, 18," I said counting our 18th mile. "My dad taught me. It's a very useful skill, 21." They seemed to be thinking and I counted a few more miles before speaking again. "You still haven't answered my question, why are we going to the airport?"

"It's a surprise," Don answered. I sighed. That's all they had been saying for the past few days. They said they had the perfect Christmas gift for me. My handlers had been acting strange as well. We were going into our 25th mile when the car slowed.

"The airport is another 2 miles south, why are we stopping?" I asked.

"Traffic jam, car accident," Charlie said. Fifteen minutes later we were moving again. It wasn't long before we stopped and parked. Don and Charlie came around and helped me out of the car wrapping their arms around me, guiding me. Over the noise and having been here last year and I could identify where we were going. They took me to gate 25. Planes from Seattle landed at this gate. This was the gate I got off at almost a full two years ago. They pulled me to a stop in the middle of the room. I felt a piece of paper come across my middle as Don and Charlie held it in front of me. They hadn't removed my blind fold yet and I left it on.

I thought I knew who we would be meeting, but it couldn't be. This thing wasn't over and till it was we weren't allowed to see each other. I stood there between the two brothers still blinded folded, waiting for a familiar voice or scent or even footsteps. It wasn't long before I recognized all three. I smiled and ripped off the blind fold. "DAD!" I shouted. I ran forward, knocking the sign out of Charlie's and Don's hands, and jumped into his arms.

"Hey there sweetie," he said dropping his bags and catching me but immediately looking at me in concern. "Are you all right, you've lost a lot of weight?"

"I'm better now," I said placing my face in the crook of his neck and inhaling his scent.

"Bella," he warned.

I relented. "I've been sick, I can't seem to make soup the way you do. Even my neighbors tried, I've managed to keep a few crackers down," I replied, I buried my face deeper into his neck breathing deeply. His shoulder length dark hair tickled me.

"Bella," he warned again. I set my feet down on the ground and held him close to me.

"You're staying right. You don't have to go back after the holidays?" I asked already starting to cry, afraid the answer would be yes, meaning he had to leave. I needed my dad.

"Yes, I'm staying. You should thank your math Professor. He's the one that solved this whole mess that we were in. He and his brother over there." I looked at him confused for a minute. "Yeah, go thank them," he said giving me a gentle push.

I ran over to the brothers and wrapped my arms around their necks, pulling them to me, "Thank you both, so much, I can't thank you enough, thank you," I said starting to cry again, this time happy tears though.

"You're welcome," Charlie said returning the hug as Don did.

"No problem Bella," Don said. "Both of you are coming to our house tomorrow for Christmas dinner." I nodded, not being in the mood to cook.

An hour later I was curled up on my couch wrapped in my dad's arms and a blanket. I leaned against him half sleep, finally feeling like I was home for the first time since I had moved here. I had also finally managed to eat and keep it down. I could feel him stroking my hair as I dozed and I could hear a ball game playing on the TV. I never cared for watching sports, but right now I was just glad to have my dad back.

I eventually fell off to sleep, getting my first good night's sleep since my last night in Seattle. When I woke I was in my own bed and I could smell food in the kitchen. I got more comfortable clothes on; tee and yoga pants and brushed my hair and teeth before stumbling down the stairs. "Dad?" I asked making sure that last night wasn't a dream.

"In here," I heard him call. I came into the kitchen to see him cooking. "You hungry?"

"I will be, I need to take Bear for his morning run. I'll be back in an hour. Thanks for cooking breakfast," I said getting a plastic bag and leash before slipping into my shoes. "Bear," I called. The large dark furred dog came running down the stairs.

"Be careful and you're welcome," he said kissing my cheek. I headed out the door with my dog. My run was nice, it was made even better knowing that my dad was home waiting with a hot meal for me. I ran as the sun came up and returned to the house just as sunrise was finished staining the sky several colors leaving it a pure blue.

I came back in the house with my stomach growling. I turned Bear lose and kicked my shoes off, hanging the leash up by the door. The omelets smelled amazing. I sat down to breakfast, eating slowly since I hadn't eaten much of anything for breakfast for a few months. Later today I had a Christmas party to go to.
