Chapter 5

Devins POV

I saw Chasedy and India walk up, thank God they were here but why didn't India answer her text! I wasn't going to make a big scene about it because this isn't the place nor time. But I definitely was going to have something to say to her. Its like she just doesn't care about her sister.

"Why didn't you text me back India?" I looked at her with a mug on my face.

"What are you talking about Devin? You didn't text me! At all!" India replied.
I knew she was lying because she didn't look me in my eye.

"Yes I did! I told you that Ryla got shot twice and is in the hospital we don't know if she will make it or not!"

"Well I-I-I saw the mes-message but I didn't think it was important! I-Im so sorry."

"How do you not think that your sister is dying isn't important India?!" I paced up and down the strip of where we were sitting in the waiting room losing my mind.

"I didn't mean it that way! I swear." "I saw your name but I was looking for Ryla's name so I didn't pay your text any attention! I didn't even open it!"

"Y'all calm down and shut the hell up! This isn't about yaal its about you damn sister NOT YOU!" Daddy said.

"Okay." India and I said together.

Ryla's POV

I was laying down on the bed with my eyes closed. Yes I'm in a coma if you're wondering. I can't speak, move or talk. Even if I wanted to. You know how you sit on your leg then it gets numb, and you try all your might to wiggle your toes but it doesn't budge? That's how my body is, except all OVER! I need to recover and get out of here fast! I miss my family. Being in a coma is frightening. Its like your dreaming day by day with your eyes close can't open them and everything turns into a dream but you ARE awake.

Finally my eyes gained the strength to open. I was so happy! I saw the doctors and they smiled and told me to wait still. When they left the room I saw King and Nyla on the other side sitting in the chair. But they were sleep. I don't care what happens, if I die today soon or far from now. I can say truly, I have the most BEST family I can ever imagine. I promise you that!

India's POV

"Family of Ryla Rodriguez?" We all stood up. "Ryla has opened her eyes. She can hear you talk but can't talk back or necessarily move yet, you can now come all in." By the time we was going to walk in I heard Kylan and Morgan little voice saying "wait, wait, wait for mee!" They and my aunt had made it back. I picked him up and Morgan walked. We all walked in Ryla's hospital room quietly. I wanted to be the first to talk to her to tell her that I apologize even though she doesn't know.

"Listen Ryla, I'm so sorry. Devin texted me and told me that you was in the hospital and may not make it but I ignored him." Fears started falling down my eyes and I couldn't control them. "I didn't know what was going on, I swear! I'm sorry Ryla I'm sorry!" I felt someone grab my hand so I looked down. It was her! Ryla grabbed my hand I smiled but still in tears. Devin grabbed me and cried with me taking me into the hallway while everyone else said what they felt.

"I'm sorry for not believing you India. I really am!" I gave Dev a big hug. Him and KaeShun are the best at being a brother!

"Its ok Dev, I understood what you meant. It could've been a much worse case than what it is now, I love you Devin and no one could replace you!" I told him.

"I love you too baby girl. I was just trying to teach my little sister a life learned lesson, no one could ever replace you either India." He made me cry again. "Aww Indiee don't cry!" He said wiping my tears. "I'm not 5, I'm 15!" I laughed, he laughed after me and we hugged again.

We walked back inside and saw Ryla sitting up on the bed holding Nyla on her lap and King sitting beside her on the bed joking around.. If she keep this up she would be home in no time!

Another short chapter but I got a big one coming up. Just wait on it !
