Chapter 7 - New Day

He approached me with a knife but I couldn't run, my legs were tied to the chair legs and my hands tied around the back. I tried my hardest to scream but only muffled noises were released as I was gagged. The cold metal of the blade stroked my bare neck, scratching but not piercing the skin, the stinging sensation and fear was all causing my heart beat to quicken, his face was blurry but his evil eyes glared brightly in the darkness. Who was he? I saw a blurry wicked smile spread across his face and in a second the knife was plunged into my stomach and I screamed out in pain except I was properly screaming.

I woke up crying and sweating. I couldn't stop shaking a looking for the non-existent blood from my non-existent stab wound. Although the weird thing was that the back of my neck stung as if it had been scratched. Luke ran into my room and held me tight, I broke down and couldn't stop screaming and crying but he stayed there comforting me, holding me, making sure everything was fine and nothing could hurt me! Once I stopped crying I managed to calm down and look up at him, his expression was gentle and caring, he looked perfect.

"How did you get here so quickly?"

"I stayed in the spare room, you fell asleep on me last night so I carried you here, I didn't want to wake you, you looked so peaceful. Except when I laid you down you started shaking so I made sure you went back to sleep peacefully. I then felt terrible about sleeping with you and I couldn't leave you alone, so I slept in the room next door and you woke me up screaming!"

"I'm so sorry Luke, i'm such a mess but you didn't have to stay. I mean, it was lovely and all but shouldn't you get home. I mean where do you even live?"

"Funnily enough, I live right next door. My Mum is your guardian sort of so they put you and Lilli in the free house next to ours! We can protect you that way."

"That's why you guys told us you might be to close for comfort! Wait why do we have a guardian?"

"Well Mya, you grew up in a safe house surrounded by security! Now you have no-one to fall back on well you do, you have us!"

I laughed at the thought of having to live next door to these crazies and I looked up at his deep brown eyes. He carefully placed my hair behind my ear and rested his forehead against mine, he looked intently into my eyes as if he was trying to read me. I finally felt relaxed and not so tense, I let my forehead rest against his and finally felt like I had a good friend. He he was someone who wasn't forcing me to be open and immediately trusting but this thought soon changed as his lips started moving closer to mine. I immediately panicked I jumped up and started to run out.

"Mya, come back!" His voice sounded hurt and scared.

"St... stay away from me Luke."

I could still hear him caling out and running after me but I grabbed my coat and started speed walking down the road, I had no idea where I was going and to be honest I didn't care about getting lost it would be easier that way! I came to a park and sat under and up against a large oak tree which shaded me from the strong sun, young couples wandered past hand in hand. My mind started laughing at me and telling me i'm never going to have that because i'm to wrapped up in my utterly pathetic life to realise the good for me. I have built my walls so I that I can't knock them down anymore. 

I want to let Luke in and let him help me but i'm scared, i'm scared of the future, he's famous for christ sake and i'm just little me, nobody. Well, that's stupid, I could possibly be famous in the next year if all goes well with the record company. A single tear rolled down my cheek and I found myself crying for the second time today but for completely different reasons. Reasons involving Luke. 

"Mya?"

"Beau...!"

He crouched down next to me and wiped away my tears. He realised I needed some time to compose myself so we just sat side by side for a few moments, everything was calm and peaceful, the silence wasn't awkward, it felt right. But he soon broke it by addressing the current issues!
