My Bestfriend's Wedding

Can I really do this?

Cathy's POV

Okay so I've meet him again and he is still the same guy I fell in love with, still sweet and funny. What am I going to do?

It was still early when I woke up, I think it was still 6 in the morning. I really wanted to go back to sleep since I know Jess will be draging me around all day to get her wedding done in time, but I just could not get back to sleep. Might as well take a shower to clear my head. When I got out of the bathroom there was a note on my table, it was from Jess,

Hey, Cathy

I'm really sorry but I can't come with you and Will today, I got an urgent call from work saying they really need me for today. So please help Will make decisions for the wedding, you know how hopeless he is at those kinds of things. As thank you I'll get you some of your favorite strawberry short cake on my way home, I'll be home at around 6 so please wait for me and we'll all have dinner together.

I stood frozen for a considerable amount of time I can handle being with him when Jess is around, but being alone with him, and to top that of planning a wedding with him well that is a whole other story. But then I suddenly remembered how happy Jess looked yesterday, she was practicaly bursting with joy. I can't take that smile off of her face, so I'll just have to forget the past and move forward. Its just planning a wedding it can't be that hard(I hope). 

I went down stairs to get some coffee since I know her fiance will still be asleep since it was still very early in the morning, but to my surprise he was already down stairs watching the morning news and drinking a cup of coffee. "Oh! Will your already awake," he turned and smiled at me," Morning Cathy, did you sleep well?" I smiled at him as well," Morning, yeah I did sleep well thank you for asking, so did Jess tell you that she won't be able to join us  today?" I asked him as I proceeded to the kitchen to get some coffee and breakfast. He followed me to the kitchen and sat on one of the chairs near the granite counter top. " Yeah she did, she was really sad that she can't come today, but I reassured her that everything was going to be fine. After all you are coming with me get the rest of the planning done right?" He asks me and I nod at him." Have you eaten?" He nods," Me and Jess ate before she left, actually she left just a few minutes ago. Well I'll let you eat in peace cause I need to get ready." He smiles at me and walks off to his and Jess' room.

After I ate we went out and continued the preparations for the wedding. Besides our small arguments, like the flavour of the cake or the flowers to be used in the ceremony, It was a pretty peaceful productive day. We got so much done and when we finnaly got home we were both exhausted.

After about 5 minutes I heard the front door open and Jess called out," I'm home." I peeked from the kitchen and saw that she brought chinese take out with her and she also has the strawberry shortcake she promised me. " Hey Cathy how was your day, cause mine was totaly exhausting!" She exclaimed as she plopped herself down on the sofa. I chucked at her and sat down next to her. " Well at least you were only in one place do you know how many shops we went to today? I tell you the minute we got home I looked exactly like you and I did the very same thing you did." I rest my head on one of the pillows and Jess started to giggle and I joined in. " Oh! I almost forgot, where's Will?" I thought for a second, oh, yeah he was in their room, " I think he's in your room, I didn't want to bother him since he might be as tired as I am if not more. So I let him be." She nods and stands up " Well i'll call him later let's set up the table first so that we could eat I'm starving" 

I follow her in to the kitchen and helped her set up the table, after that she called Will and we all ate together. After I finished washing the dishes, I bid Jess and Will, who were watching a movie, good night, Jess reminded me that tomorrow we were just goign to hang out and that we would continue the wedding preparations on the following day after she said that, I gave her a nod and proceeded to my room. Once I shut the door I plopped down on my bed face first, I never thought that preparing for a wedding would be this tiring. It was even more draining since I had to keep my feelings buried deep in my heart, because I know that some part of me wishes that on that magical day I would be the one walking down that aisle with Will waiting for me at the altar, all right i admit it I still have feelings for him. But I know that would be impossible since they are getting married in a couple of weeks and I know that Will does not feel that way about me, and even if he did I'd still reject him, even if it hurts me, I'd do it. For the sake of my friends happiness, I'm willing to sacrifice my own. I just hope I don't regret this decision in the end of all this.
