Green eyes shining in the dappled sunlight, Ash waits patiently. She continues to watch the young girl reading under the large oak tree. Ash notes that her blond hair is beautiful and catches the afternoon sunlight, causing it to appear like spun gold. This is a pleasing quality and Ash is happy that soon, she too will have hair like this. She has waited so long and time is running out for her. She needs to take the girl and just be done with it. Ash snorts softly and shakes her head. Just one bite and then it's done. Ash creeps forward slowly before she can back down and talk herself out of what she must do, like she has always done in the past. She hated killing, especially one as young as this. It has to be done, if she returns to the pack without her other half she will have no choice but to be exiled. She had been searching for many moons for this young girl. Everyone said she would just know upon first seeing the human that was to complete them. She had almost missed her.
She had been out hunting when she came across the young girl quietly reading under the large oak tree. Ash had sniffed the air and determined that she was no threat. She had then turned to continue on the path of the small rabbit she was tracking when a slight hum began in her blood. Ash had stopped and turned back to the girl. After starring at the girl, for what seemed like hours, the hum had only got louder. The closer Ash got to the girl the more right the feeling became. She just knew that this girl was going to save her. The hum in her blood couldn't lie. She had found her other half.
Then she remembered what she must do to obtain her other half. After the thought of what she must do next hit her, Ash had began to pace up and down the path. She didn't want to do it, but she really had no choice and unbeknownst to the girl, she didn't have a choice as well. It was her destiny as much as Ash's. So here she was staring at this girl trying to talk herself into what she must do next. Ash snorts and then freezes.
The young girl glances up and says "Hello, is anyone there?"
Ash sees that her eyes are the same shade of green as hers. This causes Ash to pause momentarily. Could she truly be the one? The crazy witch that lives with the pack told her that she would never find her other half and she would always be an outcast. Ash never liked that stupid witch, because she just smelled off, but the Alpha was bedding her so who was she to question. Being the only one in her pack that couldn't shift made her a laughing stock, and the butt of many a joke. Hopefully that will all change today. The girl glanced around her and when no further sound was made she settled into reading her book once again.
Taking a deep breath, her blood humming in her veins a constant throb. The blood doesn't lie she tells herself as she lays low and focuses on the girl, who is unaware that death is so close. Her muscles tense, ready to pounce, she puts all her weight on her hind paws, ready to spring. With all her strength she lunged for the girl.
Her sharp claws sunk into warm flesh, and strong jaws clasped a tender throat. The girl let out a silent scream and began to struggle as hot blood gushed into Ash's mouth coating her tongue. She closed her eyes and fought the urge to gag and spit the foul liquid from her mouth. Fighting her gag reflex she continued to sink her teeth deeper, until the girl ceased to struggle. Once her kill is completely still, Ash gently laid the girl on the ground.
The blonde hair of the young girl, she has just slain, fans out around her body like a halo. The blue green tips absorbing the bright red blood that still sluggishly pours from puncture wounds on her neck. Lifeless green eyes stare at her accusingly.
"I am so sorry." she whispered into the stillness, her voice tinged with sadness. "I had no choice, it was your destiny and mine." Ash looked up and let's a mournful howl loose. Her white coat gleaming brightly and her ears twitching back and forth. As she watches the bright green ball of light slowly rise from the young girls chest. Ash changed the pitch of her howl and the ball stoped and hovered just above the girls body. Once the ball is suspended she laid down beside the young girl and began to chant.
The girls body jerked and began to twitch. Ash continued to chant louder as the body lifted from the ground and started to glow. As Ash chanted the ancient bonding spell, she notIced that the blood was being absorbed back into the body and the puncture wounds were healing, as the ball of light began to shift and expand.
'Almost time' Ash thought to herself. She chanted louder, the intricate spell rolling off her tongue.
The girls body was a burning ember of flames as the ball of light grew to an iridescent green and blue. Just as the last drop of blood was absorbed, the brilliant light engulfed them both, and exploded outwards merging the two into one, for all eternity.
'Finally, it is done.' Ash thinks wearily as her soul and life essence and the girls slowly binds and weaves together forever changing both their lives.
Finally, after years of being alone, Ash can now be respected in the pack, she is no longer an outcast. She is now the wolf within.
