The Wolf Within Me

Chapter 6

"What do you need me to do Ash?" I say quickly.

"Just pay attention and try to focus on being one with me." Ash says "Your much stronger than I am in some areas and it's draining my strength to keep you in wolf form. You have to truly let go and bond with me. Your soul has bonded completely with mine but your mind is still separate."

"I don't know what your talking about Ash, can we save the voodoo talk for later. Just tell me what you need now so we can get away from the goon squad." I say exasperated. The flashes of grey and black are getting closer and one very large black flash is gaining ground and is ahead of the others. I don't have to be told that it's Quinton.

"Why is he chasing us?" I ask Ash as we jump over a large log and some heavy brush.

"I don't know. I didn't break any rules and I was only on the outskirts of his territory for about five miles. He can't be that big of an ass." Ash says as we dart around some large boulders and continue running down an embankment and into a small clearing.

"Well he's getting closer and we are running out of options. Just tell me what to do and I will do it." I say quickly glancing back, we jump another log and head into the trees again just as Quinton reaches the clearing we just left. The other wolves close behind him.

"I don't know what to do Breanna! He's too fast and if he wanted us dead I think he could have caught us by now." Ash glances behind us and picks up speed, but Quinton just matches us keeping pace, he's neither catching us nor are we losing him.

"Maybe his territory is bigger than you think, because he's not letting up and frankly I am getting really sick of running." I say my temper rising. "I mean seriously who does this pompous idiot think he is anyway?"

"He thinks he's an alpha Breanna, and not to be messed with, but I agree with you that this running is getting old. Not to mention exhausting." Ash says as we dodge through a thick bush the branches snapping.
