Sang's POV.
The next day, as Nathan was making coffee for breakfast, Dr. Green approached me, donned in three-quarter length jeans and a purple t-shirt. He gripped the edges of the kitchen counter and leaned forward. He was face was unshaven and his eyes were tired, but his smile was huge,
"Let's go for a walk on the beach," he said excitedly, "We're on holiday at the beach. I want to go to the beach."
I frowned, "Aren't you meant to be at the hospital?" I asked. That is where I remember him being last.
He huffed, "Just because I'm a doctor doesn't mean I can't relax outside the hospital," he scoffed. He stole the coffee off Nathan, sipping it gently as he leaned one hip against the edge of the counter, looking at me right in the eyes, "Besides, Silas is with North, who's sleeping. They'll call me if they need me".
Nathan stood there, staring at Dr. Green, "You do realise you just took my coffee," he said with a grumble, "I was going to drink that."
Dr. Green turned around to Nathan, noticing him, "Oh. Well, respect your elders."
Nathan rolled his eyes and turned back to the coffee machine, making another, "It's just three years."
"How true." Dr. Green agreed, but this time he turned to me and winked.
I couldn't help but blush.
"Oy! Do I smell coffee? I want one." Gabriel called as he stumbled in, his hair messy around his eyes. Elvis the cat followed him, walking around Gabriel's feet, his tail tickling Gabriel's calves.
"Me too." Luke said as he hopped on one foot, his crutches carried in by Victor who followed. His fiery eyes looked up, catching mine. He smiled, "Morning, Princess."
Nathan whipped around in shock, "What did you just call me?" he asked, his eyes wide.
I giggled, about to correct him when Luke stepped in, "Nathan, you do realise that Victor is in love with you, right?"
Nathan was so confused at that moment I couldn't help but laugh.
Victor smiled, but his tone grew serious, "Luke is right , I am in love with you. You're just such a pretty Princess."
Gabriel smirked at Nathan's even more confused expression and wrapped his arm around Luke's neck, "And see, I'm head over fucking heels for Luke."
"And Kota, here," Luke announced and Kota walked in, "Is seriously in love with Doc."
Kota stopped walking, his eyebrows narrowed, "Huh?"
At this moment I couldn't stop laughing, my head falling into Dr. Green's chest with a huge giggle fit. Dr. Green smirked, but I could tell he was suppressing laughter, "Hey, now, you got her started! Stop, before she explodes!" All the boys were snickering except Nathan, whose eyes widened with realisation, "Oh I see. This is another one of your pranks," he said, still confused, looking pointedly at Luke, "Haha, very funny. And you got Victor and Gabe in on it. Stop."
Kota looked at everyone shaking his head, "Can someone please explain what's going on?" He glanced over at Nathan, his tone lighter, "Hey, are you making coffees?"
Nathan's hands went to his face, shoving his palms in his eyes, muttering to himself, "All I wanted was a coffee..."After breakfast, we stayed true to Dr. Green's wish and went for a beach walk. At one point, Dr. Green made us stop and sat on the sand, dragging me down as I settled in between his legs, my back against his chest. His arms went around my front, his elbows resting on his knees on either side of me. It was ridiculously comfortable and warm, protecting me from the harsh sea breeze.
All the others except Luke, who sank in the sand next to us, threw a frisbee back and forth that Gabriel brought along. It looked fun, but I liked relaxing with Dr. Green so much that I was happy just to watch them.
"Oy, don't spin it so fucking hard!" Gabriel yelled as he ran after the frisbee flying over his head, his hair whipping in the breeze.
I loved to watch them have fun and relax. It just made me feel so much more at ease instead over worrying myself. All the smiles made me happy.
That's what a family is meant to do, isn't it?Mr. Blackbourne's POV.
I made my way to the hospital to see North and Silas, primarily to check how North was, but also to see what they both remember. It's about time to work out what is behind this bomb attack.
I can't have my team in this kind of jeopardy. If there is a new, or old, threat lurking, we must eliminate it as soon as possible.
For the third time since I entered the elevator, I tried to adjust the collar on my polo shirt. I'm not used to wearing casual outfits. I'm trying though. Sean insisted that I wear less formal attire this holiday, to which I agree. I just need to get used to it.
North was awake, talking in hushed tones to Silas,
"Good morning." I greeted. They both turned to me,
"Hey," North said, giving me a smile. He looked much better today. He had some major abrasions and his arm in a cast. Despite the pain he is most likely in, he masks it completely. That's how North is; he doesn't like to be helpless.
I sat down in a plastic chair next to Silas, leaning forward on my elbows, "I was wondering what you specifically remember from the bombing. Silas says he doesn't remember anything out of the ordinary until you pushed him out of the way. What did you see?"
North's lips tightened into a thin line, "There was a skinny guy in an aisle. He made me feel uncomfortable. Then I heard a ticking sound," he motioned with his hands. His fingers were still slightly shaky, "It kept getting faster, that's when I realised it was a bomb. So I tried to get both of us out of the way, and, well, here we are," he wiped his hand over his face, pinching the bridge of his nose, "Motherfucker."
I ignored the profanity, "What did the 'skinny guy' look like?"
"Skinny. About Victor's height. Dark eyes. Brown hair. Pale skin."
I nodded, wondering how on earth we will find this person.
Silas frowned at that moment and turned to me, his accent thickening, "That sounds like that waiter from the pancake, donut place."
I sucked in a breath, realising he was right. It would be marvellously easy to find the bomber if he was a local in the area.
What would they have against us though?
I gave a curt nod, and grabbed my phone from my pocket, texting Victor to investigate this person,
"His nametag from the breakfast restaurant said Jack." I noted, remembering from yesterday morning.
Silas smiled, "Hey, you should be a detective!"
North merely rolled his eyes, "At least you have a lead."Victor's POV.
After doing my research, also known as hacking into police files, I called Mr. Blackbourne with the most satisfactory smile planted on my lips.
"I solved the case!" I said triumphantly, ridiculously proud of myself. I wanted someone to applaud or hug me.
Mr. Blackbourne was immediate, "Tell me everything."
"The bomb wasn't targeted to North, or Silas, or any of us," I began, "The guy, and his real name isn't Jack, for sure, is the bomber, and was trying to get, or, well...murder, kill, however you want to call it, his brother."
Mr. Blackbourne was silent, "How did you find this?"
I felt smug, "He was a culprit from a previous investigation, they actually expected him to do something liked this. Looking at his track records, he has a history of handling explosives," I explained, "Anyway, I found the recording from his interrogation. He admitted to trying to, you know, his brother. North and Silas were just at the wrong place, wrong time."
Mr. Blackbourne let out a big, long sigh, "Are you certain?"
"I couldn't be more sure." I stated, "He's going to jail too. We have nothing to worry about."
He was silent for a moment, probably thinking, "Why would he do that to his brother?" he muttered. The question wasn't really directed for an answer, but I understood. We do go through a lot, fights and mishaps, but nothing could ever make me want to harm my brothers. They're family. Two days later.
Sang's POV.
"Ha! Draw four!" I exclaimed gleefully, poking my tongue out at North.
North glared at me and grabbed four cards, "You're so evil," he said, holding his cards with his good arm. I sat next to him on the couch in the living area, my legs crossed over his, the pile of cards in my lap. Dr. Green let him come back last night as he felt confident North would be more comfortable with us; apparently North was getting grumpier and grumpier in the hospital.
Silas sat on the floor in front of us, picking at a bandage near his ankle, "Don't listen to him, aggele mou."
North huffed a laugh but turned back to me, "What colour?"
I opened my mouth but a finger poked my shoulder. I turned my head just as Luke's face appeared, his chin landing on my shoulder as he looked at my cards, "Green. Sang wants green."
North looked at me pointedly, "Does Sang want green?"
I nodded, but as I was about to play my card, I heard a loud, resounding thump up in the attic area. Silence followed.
We all shared confused looks, "Well, what the hell was that?" North asked, looking up.
I put my cards on the couch and stood, "I'll go check."
Kota appeared from the kitchen with a deep frown, "I'm coming with you."
I crawled up into the attic to see a pile of papers and boxes scattered everywhere. Gabriel was sitting in the middle holding the back of his head.
I made my way over to him, "Gabriel?" I said softly, hoping he didn't have a big headache or hurt himself.
He spun around, his eyes wide, "You remember that picture of the wedding couple?" he asked, "And how you thought I looked like him?" he beckoned me over. I sat next to him, finding whole messy pile of black and white photos in his lap, "I remember," I said.
He gave me one of the photos of the same married couple and turned it around,
"'Jospeh and Tess Coleman'", he read out. His were wide as he stared at me, "I think these are my grandparents."
