"Oh yes, Ms. Jill. I haven't told you that we actually had camp buddies," Daine said sarcastically.

"Meet Jack," she said, trying to stifle her laugh, because of the expression on my face.

"Uh, hi!" Jack said, offering to shake hands.

"Pfft. I already met you. It wasn't so nice. You scared me," I said, rolling ny eyes, walking away.

They started talking like they've known each other for a long time. Jack had blonde hair, blue eyes, a perfect face, but not my type. He's obviously a trouble maker. Typical.

No he's not.

Uh-huh? How can you say so? He just scared me a while ago.

You let your imagination control you, it wasn't his fault.

Uh! Shut up!

"Hey," a voice behind me said. I jumped from where I was sitting. I turned around, seeing a 5"5 guy with brown hair, and green eyes. He's handsome.

I frowned. "Who are you?"

"Ugh, I'm,"

"And why are you here? Are you another one of our camp buddies? How many are you? Did all of you plan on me?" I said, fuming.

"Whoa, chill," he said, putting his hands to the level of his chest.

"Let me explain, I'm Paul Mendez, you can call me Paul. I'm Jack's best friend, the guy over there,"

"Oh yes, I know him, I bet you too have a trouble maker attitude," I said, narrowing my eyes at him.

"Oh no no," he said, surrendering. "Back at The Valley(their school) he's the naughtiest in our group, and I'm the smartest." he said, beaming.

I scoffed. "Does my face look like I care? Look, I hate your bestfriend already, so don't make me hate him more," I said, sitting again on the bench.

"Why not? Because you might like him?" he teased.

My eyes grew big at what he said. "Are you out of your mind? I will never like your best friend!" I shouted.

"Who cares!?" Jack said, laughing.

Wait, what!? He can hear us from afar!?

To be honest, Paul is close to being my ideal crush than Jack. He's nice(enough) and he talks gently, not like the barbarian Jack.

"By the way, you haven't told me your name?" Paul said, scratching his head.

I rolled my eyes. "It's Jill," I said, mentally facepalming. I don't know why it feels awkward to say my name to people. Maybe because it's too short? Or maybe because they don't even care?

They wouldn't ask your name if they don't care.

Shut up, okay? I have my OWN opinion.

Too bad, I am your opinion. Your other opinion. I'm your subconscious mind, you know.

Ugh. Tell me again, why did you---

"Hey Jill!" Daine shouted, running towards me. "So I see, you have met Paul," she said, in an unusual tone. She looked at Jack, then at me. She was trying to say something, but whatever it is, it is not good. Jack followed her. Daine sat on the bench, next to me. The two boys sat across us. Jack across me, Paul across Daine.

"Okay, so what are we gonna talk about?" Daine asked, laughing uneasily.

"Spooky stories," Paul said, making weird noises.

I looked at them with a bored face. "Excuse me, it's nine in the morning, and spooky stories? Do we look like toddlers to you?" I said. They stared at me. There was silence. I frowned. "What!?" I said, pissed off. They laughed. They're teasing me. I hate this camp. Daine owes me one for this. Uggh.

Suddenly, the two boys stood up, started to play some music, and they did interpretative dancing. They're jerks. They pretended to be gay(it was so natural), and looked at each other's faces. Their faces were so close. They were like lovers, to be honest..Then I looked at Jack. He smiled.

Then my heart skipped a beat.
