Suddenly as we were quickly slurping up spaghetti the room went dark, as if someone had cut the light supply....
I trembled as I reached out to hold Noah but I couldn't feel him or see or hear anyone in the room. I started to call out crying for anyone to help as I felt like I was tumbling into darkness.
As I scrambled to grab my phone I realised I'd left my bag at home, as I was about to stand I heard a faint ticking noise.
'Tick tock'
'Who's there?' I said out
'Tick tock'
'WHOS THERE?!' I yelled as I approached and stumbled towards the noise
The ticking got faster and faster 'tick tock,tick tock , tick tock!!!'
The lights suddenly switched on and a group of people yelled 'SURPRISE!' Blowing noise makers. In shock I stumbled back only to find Noah catching me like a trust fall. 'Oh my god Noah! I was so scared!' I said
'I'm so sorry pen I.. I just wanted to surprise you that's all' he muttered
'Its fine I love it !'
'R...really?'
I nodded
He led me over to our table when a 50s rock jive came in the jukebox, suddenly the group of people started to do a complex dance with paintbrushes flicking paint onto a massive canvas that appeared out of no were.
After they finished the canvas looked a mess a complex mix of red and peach and green and blue. Then the surprise .... They pulled the stencil off and it was a picture of me!
I stood up and applauded as the painters all took a bow 'WOO!'
Then the lights dimmed once again and a birthday cake appeared in the shape of a camera 'penny ' was written in silver icing and as they all sung 'happy birthday' I shut my eyes and blew out the candles wishing that the day would never end.....
