"You wanna watch a movie?" I asked.
"Hmm," he said, "As long as it's horror."
I walked over to my book cased filled with horror, it was my favorite genre. After rummaging I found an old favorite, the Halloween series.
"This here," I said placing in a disk into my blu-ray player, "is my faaavorite series hands down."
I was bent over and when the disk loaded I turned my head to look at him, "Halloween."
His lips twitched into a bright smile and he stood and stared at me. I grabbed his hand and tugged him to my couch that sat in front of my TV. He lifted my legs onto his lap and I snuggled my self under his arm. The first movie started.
I was so zoned out of the movie from being with Justin, A pop up appeared making me jump.
"Did you just jump?" Justin asked laughing.
"I think I did," I said laughing with him.
My laughing quickly stopped when his phone started beaming with texts. He was so into his phone, it's like I wasn't even there.
Every text he got I would look at him face, the same expression every time. Amusement. Who was this person or persons he was texting? Especially when I'm right here, legs on him and all.
"This is my favorite part, look," I said.
He looked up for about a minute straight before resuming to replying to the texts he was still receiving.
"Who's so important?" I finally asked.
"No one," he said without looking up from his phone.
I decided to do a cheap move and quickly glance at who he was texting.
I looked up at the contact that read, a girls name, then he exited out and replied to another girl. The conversations were flirtatious and teasing sending me into a mad spiral. Without thinking I paused the movie and turned on my lamp. Justin looked at me confused.
"I think you should go," I said with my eyes closed.
"What? Why?" he asked.
"Because what's the use of being here when all I am is background to you rendezvous!" I said.
"What are you even talking about?" he asked defensive.
"Must I enlighten you on what YOU'VE been doing all night? Texting two or probably even more other girls, flirting with them while you're literally sitting right next to me? I honestly thought this," I swirled my finger around in front of me," This! Was more than just a fling," I paused. "But I guess not."
"I don't get what you're saying," he started.
"I'm not just some options for you. Im not a cigarette you can just light up when you want to I'm a fucking person. You either want me all the time or you don't at all. I know you didn't ask but I've got to put this out there."
He started walking towards me, "You don't know what your saying-"
"On the contrary, I'm perfectly content with what has came out my mouth." I took a deep breath. "I need you to leave, now. I don't care who you go to, where you go to, who you sleep with this night. It's not my problem."
He stood there, with a doe-eyed bambi look on his face.
"But you're the only one I want to be with, you are the only one," he said quietly.
"That's really hard to believe when your phone is still going off with texts." I walked over to my bedroom door way and looked at him. "Goodnight," I said and closed my door.
I laid down and shifted to my side. My door opened as my back faced it. Tears slowly started to stream down my eyes on to my cheeks.
"Angelene I-"
"Go," I said.
"But-"
"Leave!" I yelled, making my voice crack.
After a pause he left. I laid on my back and placed my hands on my head. My mind flooded with thoughts and memories making more tears escape my tear ducts.
I scoffed to myself, "And I thought I meant something.."
