Prologue
Years ago my best friend Alex and I were swimming in the ocean, when all of sudden I noticed a shell, but it was unlike the others, it was made of moon rock and was covered in precious stones. At the time we were only four and were very curious about anything we saw and this was the most beautiful thing we had ever seen. Alex got out of the water excited to show her brother Zachary the shell. To mess with Alex, Zachary threw the shell in the ocean causing Alex and me to cry. We told my parents who got up and helped us look even though it meant having to take my twin two year old sisters (Coral and Pearl) in the water with them. After hours of searching my dad finally found it, but it was in pieces. He picked it up and all of a sudden it started to glow, in shock dad dropped the pieces, smoke started rising from the pieces and the water turned from a aqua to a lavender. We all stood staring at the water then two emerald eyes popped out of the water and they grabbed Zachary by the leg and he was never seen again. The next day was filled with sadness, but we all got enough courage to go to the ocean where Zachary was taken. We stepped in to the water, and we all felt a tingling feeling. Alex and I looked down, thinking it was just little fish, but in our shock found out we had sprouted tails. We yelled at our parents who had also gotten tails, and since Alex and I still believed in mermaids, we dove down and our hair changed and our eyes. I had dark purple hair that matched my tail and sapphire colored eyes to match my name, Alex's mom looked just like me. The twins got silvery pearl colored hair a tail to match and coral eyes. Alex and my mom got pink hair a tail to match and lime green eyes. Our dads got bright yellow hair to match their tales, and indigo eyes. Nothing was the same after that.
