Two Weeks Later
The two weeks passed in a blur. I couldn't believe that I hadn't seen Alex since the day I blacked out, but today I was going to see her, as a goodbye before I moved. We planned to go to the place where her brother was taken, and where we turned into mermaids, but her parents insisted they come with us because we needed protection even though we are almost 15. But I know they're afraid Alex will get taken too, even though they would never admit that. I sat down in my old wicker rocking chair and I watched as the waves crash along the shore... man am I going to miss this place, man I am going to miss Alex. I heard the phone ring, reluctantly I stood up and grabbed it, hello I said weakly, hinting that whoever it was should leave me alone. Then I heard her voice, it was Alex and she wasn't in her usual cheery voice it was filled with worry and she sounded like she had been crying. "What's wrong?!" I asked nervously. "My parents... they're GONE!" Alex said between sobs. ~I dropped the phone~
