You might think I'm wierd, the way I talk or the way I act. Others including my best friend and my family think I'm slightly crazy. But I think of myself as “just imaginative in a special way”.
On the outside I look just as normal as any other 18 year old. Shoulder-length golden brown hair, brown eyes, and slighty tanned skin. I personally am not fond of how I look but I guess I can't really do anything about it. I don't wear makeup partly because I really don't know how, and partly because if I try to, I end up looking like someone beat me up.
I live with my mom, dad, and little sister named Selene. I get average grades at school and I have average friends. I live in a quite small, but cozy house, two blocks away from school.
But anyways, there is something that has been bothering me this past year. And that is, my weight. I have always been on the cubby side but its gotten worse these days. I blame my pizza problem.
But anyways, what is this pizza problem? Well, I'll tell you. I Sarah Klarey am a pizza addict. Why? I have reasons of course. You see, pizza is all good and that, but the only reason I order pizza every week is because of Ian Jackson.
Ian Jackson, you see, is the gorgeous hottie in my P.E. class. And unfortunately, only in P.E.. He's working as the pizza delivery guy for Pizzaria, and ever since I found out he was, I've been ordering pizza in order to make my existence known to him. And yes, I confess, I have a huge crush on Ian Jackson. Been crushing on him since freshman year.
So, you may ask, was I successful in making him notice me? The answer is, no. The first time I ordered pizza, I didn't know Ian would be the delivery guy. But when he showed up with the pizza at my door, I nearly fainted.
"Here you go.", he said with a slight smile as he held out the pizza.
But I stood there, just stood there like a idiot starring at his perfect face, already getting sucked into his dreamy blue eyes. I bet I almost drooled.
I guess he kind of noticed me starring so he said,
"Are you okay?"
"Uh yeah", I replied as I snapped out of my trance. I felt my face turn red from embarassment.
"Your pizza.", he said holding it out to me again.
I thanked him and grabed the pizza. I gave him the money and he said bye and left. I watched him all the way to his delivery car and till he was out of sight. When he was fully out of sight, I went inside and shut the door. I felt like I was going to fly all the way to pluto. This was the first time I had spoken with Ian. From that day on I made a decision that I would order pizza as often as I could, if I could be this close to Ian Jackson.
Saddly though, my mom didn't approve of me ordering pizza the very next day.
"But you had pizza yesterday and there are leftovers on the counter."
"I know! I want more though."
"No, that's not going to happen. Sorry sweetheart. Maybe next week."
"Fine. Well from now on pizza is my favorite food and I'm going to order it every Friday, and you can't stop me mom."
"Alright alright, your highness. As you wish."
So I started ordering pizza every Friday and today will be the fifth time. I picked up the phone and ordered a cheese pizza. This time I promised myself not to look stupid. As I was waiting, my best friend Bella called and said she was in the neighborhood and if she could come over. I said sure what the heck and she told me she would be here in a couple of minutes.
As I was waiting a tingling sensation of excitement overcame me and I started to feel very happy at the thought of seeing Ian's face up close again. Even though we go to the same school, I seldom get to see him because he hangs out with the so called "cool kids".
I really don't get why they're called cool though. I mean yeah, the guys are pretty hot and they're good at football, but other than that, I think some of them are just plain jerks. Especially Heath Collins.
Heath Collins is a playboy and will try to hit a homerun with any girl he can. In the 6th grade, he asked out Bella and the next week dumped her for being too prude. Jerk.
About 20 minutes later, the doorbell went off and I jumped up from the couch and ran to the door. I checked my face in the mirror hanging on the wall next to me and smoothed out my hair. I took a deep breath, practiced smiling, and opened the door very casually, to seem like I wasn't waiting at all.
But it was only Bella.
"Hey", I said, a bit disappointed as I let her in.
"Hey. What's the matter?" Bella asked.
"Nothing, I thought you were the pizza guy."
"Well you must be pretty hungry to be disappointed like that."
"Naw, I'm fine."
Now Bella, doesn't know about my crush on Ian. I never told her because I knew what her reaction would be. She would say those jocks are big dickheads and that they don't care about anything more than football and getting pretty girls with big booties.
Bella was my best friend since kindergarten. At first we didn't get along and she pushed me down the slide backwards, but somehow we got along and became friends. We grew up in the same neighborhood and went to school together.
Bella has fair skin and beautiful glowing hazelnut eyes and matching hair. Apart from me she is skinny in a pretty way, and way taller than me. In one word, she is gorgeous.
We went up to my room and dived onto the bed.
"So, whatcha been up to?" she asked.
"Nothing much, you?"
"Well, my brother's going to collage in a few days and I get to take over his xbox now. But other than that nothing much either. When he goes lets have a sleepover at my place."
"Sure. Nice."
"Oh yeah, I have something to tell you!"
She looked excited.
"What is it?"
"So you know that guy named Kobe Lane? The one that hangs with the jocks? Well he's in my math class and he sits behind me, and he poked me in the shoulder and he's all like 'hey', so I said 'hi', and all of a sudden he handed me this piece of paper." She took out a little slip of paper with sloppy numbers written on it and continued talking. "And I didn't know what it was at first because it was folded up so I just took it. When I opened it, it was his number! So I felt stupid and shoved it into my pockets. Do you think he's interested in me? Maybe I should have given it back to him."
"Well, are you interested in him?"
"I mean he's kinda nice I guess. But I don't know if I'm interested."
"I think you should try texting him or something."
Bella started to turn red and talked in a loud voice.
"What! Heck no! You crazy!?", she said looking out the window.
At this point it was kinda obvious that she was interested in him. So I took advantage of her when she wasn't looking and grabed the paper and her phone and started dialing the number on the note. It was already dialing when she looked back at me and saw the note in my hands and phone to my ears.
"You're not.."
"Hello?", a boys voice answered.
"Uh yeah, this is Bella's friend, and she has something to say to you. I'll get her on the phone."
"Oh, Okay."
"Are you crazy?!!" she whispered a bit too loudly.
Just then the doorbell rang and I felt my stomach flutter with excitement.
"Shut up he'll hear you. Here take it. Hurry! I have to get the door.", I whispered back at her as I flung the phone to her.
She turned a bit green as she took hold of the phone, took a deep breath, and said hello.
