"Your pregnant!!!!"

"Yea, well I don't no for sure, I took a pregnancy test and they all came up positive, but im going to the doctors to make sure that they weren't just a fake positive and that my period is just late."

"Why didn't you tell us??"

"Were telling you know mum."

"I cant sit here and listen to this. you guys better get married before that thing gets out of her."

"Excuse me that thing is going to be your grandchild. its also called a baby and/or a fetus, its not a thing."

"Well either way you guys had better get married before its born or you can no longer see me or your father."

"Oh please mum you say that now but we all know that if this does happen, you will just come crawling back wanting to see your grandchild and when that happens you will not be able to see us at all."

"You little bitch!!! I will not sit here and be treated like this, im going home to talk to your father."

"Yea bye."

as soon as my mum leaves, I start crying. I couldn't help it, I knew that my mum would not approve of us having a baby before getting married but I hoped she wouldn't freak out like this. I hoped she would understand but obviously not. she needs to understand that times have changed since she and my dad were being raised, that there are lots of babies being born out of wedlock. Also we are engaged so we will be getting married. Josh puts his arm around me to try and comfort me.

"I am so sorry you guys had to see that. my mother usually never freaks out, especially over some life changing news like us getting married and everything. i am really sorry, you should of never seen that."

"Well in a way your parents will be family to us as well. i mean we are going to share a grandchild with them. we might as well know how much of a hand full she can be now. now my little man getting married with a baby on the way, now thats something, and with a stable job too. well isnt that something! our grandchild gets a dad with a really cool job, i mean in a childs eyes." josh looks at his mother with a shocked look. "look in our eyes, its just a job, i didnt mean it that way. its just a child would love a dad with your job, always getting into movies and for free, what kid wouldnt love that??"

"nice save mum!"

we said goodbye to Josh's parents and went back home. I just couldn't stop worrying about the way my mother acted, that has always been a flaw with my mother, she is set stuck in her own ways and always thinks she is right. whenever someone challenges her, she automatically thinks their her enemy even her own children and her husband. she needs to accept that times have changed since she was little. I mean she is a lovely person but she needs to get out a bit more.

"Josh do you think we could get married before the baby comes please??"

"Yea sure that's fine when do you want to get married??"

"Well whats the date today??"

"Um its the 3rd of may."

"Well how about the 7th of june??"

"Ok well we will start sending out the invites to everyone in the next two weeks. that ok with you honey??"

"Yea sure anyways I gotta meet up with some friends, ill most likely be late home, don't wait up ok."

"OK bye love you."

"Love you too."
