The Little Black Box Inside Us

Deep down,

There is this sad little moment.

That I can't fathom into words.

It is stony and cold.

Trapped by its own fears.

It is locked away in this tiny fragment of glass.

Protected in this big black box.

The box is made of part of my soul,

The darkest which you would know.

Each step closer you can feel the sorrow and pain.

My destroyed hopes and my biggest fears.

They are the monsters that surround this bow,

Blocking all light from coming in.

But there is hope.

Because everyday,

There is a new light.

And each day they grow stronger

Or maybe there is just one,

Still waiting to flicker.
