Chapter five. Journey to the Kingdom
“Nirrana?” Montague called to me in a questioning voice, I wonder what he wants? I thought to myself before turning to face him. “Princess if you prefer, you may call me M, or Mont, something along those lines.” I smiled at him and nodded my head in approval.
“Mont, wouldn’t it be easier for you to change back into an animal? I think the type of dog you were before was pretty intimidating.” I told him. I just hoped that he wouldn’t figure out that I was more comfortable with him assuming the shape I was used to.
“Princess, I know you’re uncomfortable, but if I go back and we run into trouble it would take too long to change back so I can protect you from any Evils hanging around you because of that mask. Oh and is there some kind of shop around here where I can get some proper clothing?”
I sighed in defeat before turning around once more. “Yes, there should be one at the end of this road.” I speed up in hopes of getting there faster, unfortunately we didn’t. Mont decided to take his sweet time and walk slowly. I think he did it just to get on my nerves, well I’ll get back at him, I just don’t know how or what to do yet… Oh well I shall figure it out later. “Mont we’re almost there. What all do you need?” I asked so I could start helping him find things. He would obviously need a pair of pants, a shirt, a pair of socks, and a pair of shoes at the very least. But I wasn’t sure if he needed anything else. I don’t know if he can read my mind or if he just wants to waste time, because all he did was shake his head no to me.
~Flashback~
I was walking in the garden with the man I am hopelessly in love with, and he with me. His name, dare I say? Montague. So sweet and firm like a good fresh picked apple is he, my one love Montague.
I internally sighed at my childish behavior, writing poems in my head. Yes I love this man but I am a princess, I must not be so young. Yet as I look over to his face I cannot help but smile, a sweet loving smile that reminds one of long summer days. Oohh Solist! Snap out of it! I yelled at myself on the inside. Then I hear the dreaded, “SOLIST! GET IN HERE NOW!” It’s my father calling me. I sigh in defeat before saying farewell to my lover. I smile sadly to him before slowly making my way up the stairs to the dining room where my father is most likely waiting for me. When I arrive I see not only my father but my mother and a strange man many years my elder as well. “Solist, this is the man you are to marry.” And with that one sentence I see my world fall apart.
