I gasped for air as I opened my eyes; I felt like drowning. Then I found myself lying down.
Was I unconscious?
I squinted at the fierce white light that greeted me. I shut my eyes and rubbed them but the white light never left. I reached out to cover my sight so that I could see, but my hands brushed against something smooth and warm. I cupped the mysterious object with my hands but I recoiled instantly and hissed. Fudge. It's freaking hot. Then it hit me.
It's a lit lightbulb.
That's impossible.
I thought to use my hands to push myself off the floor so that I could sit up and look at it closely.
Only. . .there was no floor.
I look over my shoulder and saw that I was at least 10 feet off the ground.
I'm floating?!
No, this is impossible. It's against the laws of Physics. This is not happening.
I'm dreaming.
Right?
I saw bits of shiny white stones floating beside me.
Diamonds?
A stone flew across my face.
They're not diamonds!
They were the shards of glass from the mirror.
What the fudge is happening?!
I buried my face in my hands. It's just a dream. A horrible, insanely realistic dream. But I felt myself float down gently. I slowly peeked through my fingers and saw that the shards were coming down with me.
How?!
"STOP!!"
A pulse radiated through me. I stayed afloat. And so did the shards.
I stared bewildered into space.
No effing way.
No. Effing. Way.
I closed my eyes as hard as I can that I felt close to having a cramp on my face muscles.
I wanna go down.
I wanna go down.
I wanna go down.
And then my feet landed softly on the floor.
This is really happening.
But...
Is it possible that I cou---
I extended my arms towards the trash bin and I closed my eyes.
The sound of the metal can shaking made me open my eyes. One by one my things flew out the bin and hovered over me.
I gasped and staggered backwards. At that my things fell to the ground in a sequence of thuds.
I--duhdama--thi--its--
Even my mind lost its senses.
I was still in awe of how much ability, of how much power I had in me but pure, hot vengeance ruled over.
And it felt good.
This'll change everything. I'll never be a loser anymore.
I walked through the hall, the soft white light of the early sun illuminating the way. There was a certain pride in my steps that I haven't had before. It brought an overwhelming grin on my face.
I passed by the mirror at the end of the hall and stopped. I stared at myself. There I saw a girl who was no longer going to cower at a corner and let herself get picked on by people who weren't worth her time.
No.
I saw a warrior. Not only for herself. It's tempting, yes. But I'm not going to step down to their level and be vile creatures of the dark like them. No one's going to suffer like I did. I'll make sure of it.
I grabbed my jacket and headed for the front door.
