Tremor

I don't know if I was breathing, if I was still conscious. All it mattered at that instant was satisfying my curiosity. This was a once in a lifetime moment that maybe only I will be given the privilege to experience. This is a phenomenon in nature that I doubt science itself could even explain. I had to know. I need to. This is my chance.

I reached out, my forefinger leading me on.

My heart stopped.

Maybe this wasn't such a good idea.

My chest tightened.

But you can't miss this.

My vision narrowed.

Go on. A little more.

My brain shrunk.

Just one more step.

When the tip of my finger made contact with it, within a second or less, the ripples collected under my finger.

It exploded.

The powerful shockwave threw me across the room and slammed me hard on the wall, knocking the wind out of my lungs. The fierce blast that went with it triggered my ears to ring brutally.

Shards of glass were flying wildly in all directions.

And I was a promising target.

Instinctively, I tried to shield my face from them with my arms but before I could, gravity took a hold of me and let my head hit the floor.

All I saw then was black.
