Luke had done it.

He went to the dinner party.

Luke honestly didn't think he would be able to keep so cool around all of those people. So many idols he had were there and he got to meet them and talk to them like they were normal people. This was Luke's dream come true but unfortunately, he had to wait some more.

Yeah sure, the dinner party was publicity for Luke. He was in some magazine articles for being at the party as an unknown celebrity and yeah, Ashton was proud that Luke was getting some well needed attention.

But now, they had to wait.

The party was only part of Capital deciding to sign Luke. Luke had to wait for another phone call and he wasn't the most patient person in the world so he was pacing waiting for the phone to ring. Ashton was feeding Ashlyn as he watched his husband rush around the room, pacing, worried. Luke's job caused him to worry about phone calls a lot. So much so, he actually took off of his other job at the coffee shop so he could be there when the call came.

Ashton rubs Alyssa's back as he burps her. He watches Luke pace and frowns a little. "Luke?"

Luke runs a hand through his hair. "Yeah, babe,"

"Sit down and relax, it's going to be okay,"

Luke sighs. "Ashton, I really need this job."

"I know, but just relax, Luke. You've been running around nonstop since you woke up," Ashton moves Alyssa from his shoulder back to his arms and starts to gently rock her.

Luke sighs and sits down. He runs his hand through his hair again.

"Luke you really need to relax," Ashton says, rocking Alyssa in his arms.

"I know, baby."

Luke rubs his face and Ashton sits beside him. Ashton looks up at his worrisome husband. Ashton frowns and kisses his cheek. "It's going to be okay, Luke," he whispers.

Luke sighs and lays his head on Ashton's shoulder.

"We need to pass the time, yeah? Get your mind off of your worries." Ashton says, smiling up at Luke.

Luke smiles softly and nods. "Yeah,"

"Let me go put Alyssa down for a nap," Ashton says, standing up.

Luke shakes his head. "No, let me."

Ashton smiles and Luke stands up, handing the small one year old to his husband. Luke kisses Ashton's head and walks back to Alyssa's room. The power was back on, Jack and Alex lending the couple some money so Luke could receive the phone call he was waiting on. Luke was grateful that Jack and Alex didn't mind helping them. Ashton and Luke had been friends with them since high school. They were good guys.

Luke turns on the lamp beside Alyssa's crib. He looks down at her, smiling as he rocks her gently. Alyssa was half asleep already from Ashton rocking her and rubbing her back. Luke kisses her head and whispers some small coos to her while he waits for her to fall asleep. He sits down in the rocking chair that his mother insisted they have in the nursery. Luke looks down at his sleeping daughter and brushes some of her curly blonde hair out of her face, sighing.

"I'm going to fix this for you, bug," he whispers. Luke knew she was asleep, but he was making her a promise. "I know it might not seem like it now, but I promise I'm going to make life good for you. You and your dad are the only things pushing me forward in life," he says softly, his icy blue eyes scanning her face. "I'm going to get this job and I'm going to be successful so that I can treat you and your daddy like my queens," Luke smiles softly as he finishes that sentence. "Maybe you'll even get another little sibling."
