Axel
"Honestly, I'm fine mother." I can't be to sure about what saved me. I got to find out for myself. Mother won't let me leave the castle after last night. I remember a storm came, causing the ship to crash into rocks near the shore. Sinking fast and the weight of wood pushing down on my chest. Trying to force the debris off my chest that was keeping me from reaching the surface. Water entering my lungs as I start to close my eyes and a touch that saved me.
"Fine. I'll leave you to rest. Don't even think about leaving the castle," she ordered.
The Doctors and maids following behind her as she left. I wasn't going to stay in bed forever, after all I had to thank my savior. I hear the sound of foot steps come from my balcony. I crept behind the curtains and tried to conceal my shadow. And keeping a steady hand on my blade.
"I thought almost dieing would make you more exciting, but no."
I relaxed, I recognized the familiar voice. "I thought regular people used doors," I mocked. "Roman, it's good to see you. You climed the place walls, why?"
"Your mother won't let anyone in to see you. I had to make sure you were alright," he smiled.
"After all, you are like a brother to me."
"Thank you, friend." Roman was my right hand man in mischief, I trusted him with everything, we have been best friends ever sice we were seven.
"Tell me, how is it that your alive?" He sat back in a chair aganist the wall and crossed his leg.
"You've heard the legends about waters surrounding Lanolin."
"Mermaids? Axel, those are only stories," he advised. He walked over to the bedroom door. He unlocked the door and quickly swung it open. He closed the door back and made sure it was secure.
"Roman?"
"I heard someone." He stated and stayed by the door, not moving. I could barley tell if his chest was shifting.
"Are you su-" I started.
"We need to keep our voices down," He stressed.
"Roman I need for you to cover for me tomorrow. I going to go back to where I washed up on shore and see if I can find anything."
"I will, but be careful." he warned and left the room, but this time he used the door.
"How odd," I laughed.
A mermaid would be the only logical answer. "Logic?" No, the only right answer to why I'm alive. I wounder what meremaids even look like. Are they really everything the legends claim them to be. Saying they are attractive creatures, but merciless.
