Emma’s POV:

I woke up the next morning to hearing Sarah and her family downstairs saying goodbye to my mum, brother and my dad. I had a quick shower, got dressed put some makeup on. I then ran downstairs to Sarah’s family. I felt like I was going to cry a river when I said my last goodbye to Sarah and her family. Even though I have always had her on skype, it just felt different because I would only be able to see her through a computer screen and we wouldn’t be able to just walk across the road and have a sleepover or anything anymore!

Half an hour later the taxi arrived to take us to the airport. It was only a 10 minute trip but it felt as if it went for half an hour. Once we checked in and got our tickets, I realized I was put in first class. I asked my dad if it was a mistake but he just simply told me that he knew how hard it was for me to move away from home so he gave me first class tickets as a present and that I had another present waiting for me at our new home.

After an hour of sitting around waiting for the plane, our flight was called to board. I wanted to get on the flight straight away but my parents wanted to wait a bit. Because I was 18 I was allowed to board by myself. So I made my way over to the line and I was the first one to board. Once I got on the plane, I was greeted by a polite air hostess who showed me to my seat. (Or should I say lounge chair?) As I sat down another air hostess escorted someone who looked really familiar to me to the seat on the aisle side next to me. He looked at me and smiled before he said, “We meet again Emma. I think fate is doing this to us!”

“Hi Luke, how are you?” I asked trying to keep all of my excitement in.

“I’m great how are you, wait today isn’t the day you are moving is it? I remember you told me you were moving to Melbourne.”

“Yeah I’m moving today. All of my stuff is already up there so as soon as I arrive at my new home, I will be doing nothing but unpacking for the next few days.” I replied

“How fun!” Luke said sarcastically. “If you need my help you can call me. Here’s my number, but don’t share it with anyone because of all of the fans wanting to get my number and stalk me all the time. I hate it!”

I nodded as he gave me his number and promised to keep it to myself and not give it to anyone.

“Would you guys like any drinks?” An air hostess asked as she pulled the trolley towards Luke and I.

“Lemon Lime and Bitters please.” Luke and I both said at the same time. We looked at each other in surprise that we both liked the same drink.

“I didn’t know you liked Lemon Lime Bitters!” Luke said almost sounding like he was excited over a drink.

“You probably didn’t know because we haven’t been able to get to know each other. But yeah Lemon Lime Bitters is my favourite drink whenever i’m not drinking vodka.” I said with a smile.

“Same as me!” Luke replied. “But I’d prefer beer as an alcoholic drink. Maybe it is just because beer is more of a masculine drink and I am more of a masculine guy!” Luke then started giggling to himself but was interrupted by the lady asking him and me to pay for the drinks.

“Don’t worry Emma; I’ll pay for this drink because you are so nice.” Luke said with a cheeky smile starting and ending at each ear.

I thanked Luke and looked out the window as I took the first sip of my drink.

After about 10 minutes the plane finally took off from the ground. And we began our hour and a half flight to Melbourne. As the plane ascended, I started to get really tired. Luke and I were chatting but I didn’t really have any clue on what both of us were saying. Before long I was in a dream where for some reason I was at my old school. I was in my year 12 room on the last day. A lot of people were crying especially Sarah, Mel and Sky. I got my shirt signed by every single person in my year except for Kate. She has always hated me because I have had a better life than her. I know that sounds mean but it is true. We both share birthdays so every year it is always a competition on who has the best birthday parties and who has the most guests. One year I decided not to have a party so I went over to her house where she had an open guest list which meant anyone could go. I turned up and she thought that I was going to mess up her whole party so she made me leave and made herself believe that the only reason why I went was because no one turned up to my party and that I have given up.
