Oliver's POV:
After I stayed at Cassandra's place for dinner, I got home. On the next day, we managed to finish the presentation. On monday we pronounced it to the class and that was it. As we got back to our seats to let the other groups continue perform their presentations, I figured it was over.
Or at least I thought that way. As soon as the school bell rang I got up and left the classroom like usually. As always I wanted to go to the back of the school building, because no one ever was there. But the soft, gentle voice of Cassandra had other plans for me.
"Hey, all by yourself?", I heard her ask and looked up to her. She smiled at me, cocking her head to the side. "Can I sit next to you?", she asked.
I had no idea why this girl was sticking around after all this. She must've noticed, I was more of a loner. More of a loser. No one talked to me, no one even dared to look at me. Well, the bullies did, but that didn't count to me. Calling me names, laughing at me or even beating me up, wasn't something I'd call a conversation between friends.
I just nodded and she sat down next to me. How did she even knew I was here?
"Do you have any plans for friday evening?", I heard her ask. Of course not, what was I supposed to plan for the weekend?
"No, I don't. To be honest, I have time the whole week", I just said and looked at her in confusion.
"I see", she mumbled and plucked some of the grass from the ground. "Well how about you come over from time to time?", she then offered without looking at me.
I winced and wanted to reply something, but I didn't quite know what to say. "Come over?", I just asked confused.
"Yes, after school. We could also meet up somewhere in the city if you want to", she said and nodded.
I didn't like the city, too many people around. Too many faces looking at me with their judging expressions. "I'd rather come to your place", I shrugged and she laughed quietly. It was an adorable laugh. Like a small chuckle, cheerful and brightening. She seemed so carefree. But I knew she wasn't.
"It's settled then! Like I said, you can come over whenever you feel like it", she smiled her gorgeous smile.
I nodded and the school bell rung again.
"Oh god, I really don't want to go to biology classes", she groaned and I laughed.
"Why did you chose it then? I rostered myself in chemistry and our teacher is absent for two weeks", I grinned widely.
"You lucky bastard", she giggled and hit my arm playfully. "So, enjoy your free period, while I have to endure boring Mrs. Samuel", she sighed and got up.
"Head up high! I know you can do it", I laughed at her and she stuck out her tongue.
She left and entered the building again.
I got up too and decided to go to the library. But as soon as I wanted to enter the school building, two strong hands pulled me away from the door and dragged me to the shrubbery. I wanted to protest but before I could say anything I got hit right in the face. I fell to the floor and heard some laughs.
