Kaine
"Mr. Cole, Nicolai is on line five. He's already arrived at LAX. Would you like for me to transfer him over to you?"
"He's already called me fifty times and he won't be able to persuade me. This company would lose half a million dollars and he's most definitely not worth going into business with—he's a wildcard."
"This can mean more partnerships, we could kick him to the curb after! Take the deal! Sir." Victoria cleared her throat, readjusting her tone.
"LUX has plenty of money and plenty of networking ability that's not worth losing over Nicolai Lawrence."
"I take that as a no, I'll give him the run around. Once again. Even though, I don't agree."
"You don't have too."
Victoria.
I gave her a start, she'd ought to be thankful.
We've been—I don't even know what we are doing—for the past ten—too damn long, ten years on and off.
Ten years of aging and anguish.
Ten years of sex and arguments.
Ten years of love and war.
I care about her, I do.
I used to be in love with her, actually.
She was with me when I was too broke for LA and took a chance to come to LA with me, when my highs were high, and lows were the lowest.
Yet, she got greedy.
I don't know what changed..
When we're stagnant and weren't shopping in the clothing stores that she was used to it's like she hated me, but that was when we were a start up.
I worked in computers and technology, this shit was tough.
As a black man, I have to be ahead of the game.
Everybody wanted a piece of you and your ideas.
You always had to watch yourself. So I had to self-isolate, she was the one who was making the bread.
Since I was a young kid , I always wanted to be as big as Steve Jobs and now it's actually happening.
I am a multimillionaire. A black multimillionaire and under the age of thirty.
LUX was my only concern.
I'm still very focused, I'm still hungry.
My fortune can go away at any time.
"Mr.Cole."
"Mr.Cole!"
"What! Damn.."
The petite woman stepped back in fear,"I apologize Krissy, can you please cancel any meetings for today, I'm going for a long lunch."
I checked the time, it was a little past noon. I was on my way to take the elevator, "Where are you going Kaine! Kaine!"
I knew I should've took the damn stairs, I ignored Victoria as she continued to yell my name throughout the entire building.
She's so fucking annoying.
