Chapter Fifty One

"I need you, Dara."

Taeyang spoke the words gently as if he's afraid to say the wrong words to her.

Right after seeing his brother again, his mind's in a mess right now. He cannot think clearly. He drove his car without any particular place to go. Then it led him here – to her. And now, seeing Dara seemed to have calmed him down.

She frowned as she saw his swollen eyes. He let go of her hand.

"Are you okay, Taeyang?"

Hearing her worried voice made his heart beat faster. He can't answer the question so he pulled her and hugged her tight. Somehow, he's already getting used to needing her when he's down.

But why?

Why her?

"I don't know, Dara... I'm in a total mess right now. I just... I just need you to stay... stay with me. Please... " He said as he sobbed on her hair.

Taeyang had never pleaded a girl to stay with him. He's always the one to leave them. But now, he badly needed a girl. He needed Dara.

Surprisingly, Dara hugged him back. He can feel her warmth and concern.

"Yes, I am here. I am staying here so hush now, Taeyang." She caressed his back which made him feel better.

Thank you, Dara.

They stayed like that for some time until he stopped crying. When he pulled back, Dara wiped the tears on his face.

Her hands are so soft.

Why do you act like this Dara?

Don't you know that I might fall for you even more?

"Come with me." He said as he took her hand.

Just say no.

Make it easier for me, Dara.

"Where?"

"Away from here."

He saw hesitation cross her eyes but she nodded. A part of him rejoiced. Taeyang pulled her along to his car. He opened the door for her then took the driver's seat.

If you back out now, I will not stop you.

He roared the engine to life.

Dara...

They didn't talk and she didn't say anything even as they left the university together.

Top crossed his arms and laid back. He's sitting opposite to Bom on a picnic table.

"Now... about our 'engagement'." He started.

Bom rolled her eyes and crossed her arms too.

"Look, Top. If you really don't want to get married, especially to me, then just say no."

Am I imagining it or is there really pain in her voice?

"I told you I can't do that."

"Why?"

"Argh! Why do I have to repeat myself?" he said, exasperatedly.

"If you don't want to explain it to me properly, then I'm leaving." She got to her feet which irritated Top even more.
