Jen was a perky and optimistic character- full of quirks. Despite this, she didn't seem to have any friends even though she was very friendly with everyone in our year. She appeared to drift about chatting to everyone. I reluctantly followed along, not wanting to be left behind.

Eron also seemed to be in the same situation as Jen. I often saw him flirting with a group of other girls one day, another the next day and then a group of boys the next. When he was around the boys, he turned from a sweet guy making girls blush to a bad boy, smoking and swearing behind buildings.

It had been two weeks since I'd started school in London. Two weeks since my encounter with Eron. Since then, he hadn't given me a second glance, which I was quite pleased about. I didn't need him insulting me but, I still found myself curious about the boy. He didn't seem all he appeared to be.

Jen and I were sat at a bench eating our lunch when I caught sight of Eron with another group of boys in year 10, seemingly taking an older brother role today. He was playfully shoving them and laughing. I found myself watching them until I made painful eye contact with Eron, his piercing blue eyes caused my heart to leap in my chest. I tore my eyes away and continued chatting to Jen hoping he hadn't actually noticed.

Of course he had.

Within a matter of seconds, he sat besides Jen swiftly and gave her a charming grin.

"Hey," he smiled sweetly.

"H-hi," Jen couldn't help but stutter. She cleared her throat and gave me a panicked look.

"Your hair looks good today," Eron complemented her, moving a stray strand of her red hair of her face.

"Th-thanks. I didn't straighten it today..."

"Natural is a good look for you."

Jen blushed as red as her hair. I guess I should have felt bad for her but I couldn't help but be amused as I watched this interaction.

But then, he turned on me.

His eyes scanned me and a smirk played on his lips, "Your ironing skills have improved I must admit," as he said that his eyes seemed to soften, like he regretted it instantly.

I sank slightly but anger flashed through me. Before I could say anything, Jen jumped to her feet, face still red but with anger.

"Yes, she under bad circumstances but that's not reason to be a damn twat! At least she doesn't have daddy issues like you!" she yelled in my defence.

Eron's face crumpled and he stormed off.

"Ouch. That must of hurt him," I commented.

"He deserved it. I've got your back," Jen held her hand up to high five me and I slapped it hard.

After school, I left Jen nattering to someone and her bus stop and set off home.

On my route, was a large park which I had avoided because of the small children playing and running about, causing havoc. That day, I decided to wander through it. It was a particularly hot day, the burning sun scorched my skin. In the park, trees stood along the path it's branches full with bright green leaves, providing the perfect shade.

I strolled along, my earphones plugged into my ears, blasting music. I glanced around. On the large, grassy field was a crowd, gathered around something. This perked my curiosity and I found myself walking across with field to them.

I pulled out my earphones before I squeezed myself passed the people and to the front of the crowd. I was stopped from going any further by yellow tape, marking a crime scene.
