"You're what?" Jen exclaimed, a look of pure shock on her face.

"I'm working with Eron..." I repeated uncertainly. Maybe it was a mistake to tell her...

"But, I thought you hated Eron!"

"Hate is a strong word..."

"You like Eron?" Jen gasped, covering her mouth with her hand.

"What? Of course not!" I insisted, "The boy really gets under my skin but..." I trailed off, struggling to find an explanation.

"Please tell me you're not going to say something completely cliché like, 'but, there's something about him I find intriguing,'" Jen pleaded.

I laughed, "I wasn't."

But there was something intriguing about Eron. I figured that if I tagged along with him, I'd see some more corpses, show Eron that he's not better than me and find out who the real Eron was because the one in school was no where near the same as the one I encountered over the weekend. Weekend Eron was nicer, wittier, easier to get on with.

"Then, why are you going to spend so much time with a narcissistic idiot?" she inquired.

"For the adventure," I smiled.

"It could be dangerous," Jen warned looking concerned.

"That's the point," I shrugged.

"Is there anything I can do change your mind?" I shook my head. "Fine..."

Jen suddenly got to her feet and walked off. My eyes followed her, curious. Once I caught sight of Eron smiling with a cigarette held between his lips in the far corner of the quad, I realised she was approaching him.

I observed as Jen pulled Eron away from his friends by his tie. Eron winked at them, allow himself to be dragged away.

It appeared that Jen was giving him a stern talking to, like a parent to their child. Eron shrugged and leant himself against the wooden fence. Jen crossed her arms over her chest looking a little bit flustered. Eron glanced over at me and I gave him a puzzled look, hoping for him to indicate what was being said. Eyes still on me, Eron nodded as if agreeing with something. Jen held her had out for him to shake. They were making a deal... Eron shook it then instantly turned and left her.

Finally, Jen returned.

"What was that about?" I questioned her.

"He gave me his word," she replied simply.

"About what?"

Jen smiled at me and tapped her nose.

"You're not going to tell me?"

She shook her head, "No. Otherwise you'll rebel."

I sighed, "Fine. I didn't want to know anyway."

After school, Eron met me at the school gates. As I was approaching, he was talking to the same boys he was hanging sound with at lunch. With another lit cigarette place between his fingers, he laughed and joked, occasionally taking a drag.

I felt awkward about approaching the group- nervous even. I decided that the best way to go about it was to just walk up and tell Eron to hurry up.

All nerve almost drained out of me but I managed to say, "C'mon," to Eron and walk off ahead. Well, almost.

Eron grabbed my wrist and pulled me back.

"Wait a minute," he told me.

One of Eron's friends just stared at me, "Who's this?"
