I walked down the streets past all the shops. All were already preparing for Christmas.
My phone rang again, this time it was from Mary. I hesitated for a moment. I answered it.
"Oh thank goodness! Vanessa what have you been doing and where are you?!" I cringed as she yelled at me.
"I have been at my old house and am outside Michigan street." I said as a single tear ran down my face.
"Ok, I'm sending a driver your way. I understand why you did what you did, but it doesn't mean it was right." Here I was in the middle of Chicago, on my phone, crying, in shorts and a tank top, in the middle of the cold. "Keith told me everything. You can come home Vanessa, but be prepared to be ignored or yelled at by the boys."
"Hey Mary?" I said in a faint whisper as my fears kept flowing down my face.
"Yes sweetie?" She said with a motherly voice.
"Thank you. For everything. I'm so grateful." The tears kept coming down my face.
"No problem honey. We all care for you, even if the boys don't show it, we do." I mentally hugged her as she hung up. I wiped away my tears as a black limo pulled up to street.
The driver for our and walked up to me. "Are you Vanessa Hempy?" I was about to correct him but then remembered what Mary said.
I nodded my head and he guided me towards the car. I crossed my arms because it was cold here. It was near Christmas time and you could see the people's breath mix with the air.
When in the limo I inspected it. As I was looking around I didn't realize who else was in the car. I finished looking around and looked up.
I stiffened at the man in front of me. He had jet black hair with gray stubble and gray sideburns. "Hello Vanessa. I'm Vincent, or as you now call me, your father." He is dull green eyes looked over my body as of unsure to trust me or not.
I just sat in silence as he continued to talk to me. But I tried silencing him out. "We are heading home and then having dinner." He said almost every five minutes. I just nodded and fell asleep.
"Miss. Miss, wake up." I was woken up by the driver and I looked out the door. We were at the Hempy's home. I got out and walked through the front door.
As I was walking up to my room. I heard some people fighting, probably the boys. I opened my door and I took a picture frame out of my little bag.
I plugged my phone on the charger. I quickly locked my door and went into my shower.
I cleansed my body and changed into a sports bra, running leggings, gym shoes, and a jacket. I tied my hair into a ponytail.
I ran down the stairs about to leave when someone said "Vanessa is that you?"
I heard the click of heels approach me as soon as she stood in front of me. "Mary?" I asked.
"Where are you going?" Mary asked me making her way towards the front door.
"I'm just heading to the park. I want to go running. Maybe thinking about joining track in the spring." I said.
"Ok. Be back soon. We have a dinner planned at six thirty." She said with a small smile on her face.
"Ok. Bye!" I said jogging away. I was running towards the park. I saw the fountain and ran a little faster.
When I reached the fountain I let out my breath. I panted because I was out of shape. I then found a quarter on the ground and threw it in the fountain.
I knew it doesn't make your wish come true, but what's the fun without believing. I remembered when it was just me and my abuela and we used to need to steal the quarters just to make a living., now I just have a ton of money, well not yet anyways.
I got up and started running again, but halfway through I bumped into a person, well more like crashing. I fell down on top of them. "I am so sorry!" I said freaking out.
The person looked at me, our faces were almost kissing distance. It was a guy. I held my breath in. I scrambled up to my feet as he got himself up. He had chocolate brown hair, and melting green eyes. He was well built. I saw his eyes raking off my body.
"Again, I'm so sorry." I said to the boy.
"It's ok. I wasn't paying attention." He said smiling, which showed me a perfect row of perfect white teeth.
"No, I wasn't. Don't blame this on you." I said smiling.
"So, what's a pretty girl like you doing out here?" He put his hands in his pockets.
"Jogging. And the name is Vanessa." I said giving a small smile as I rocked back and forth on my heels.
"That's cool. I'm-" he was cut off by a voice.
"Vanessa? Guys it's Vanessa!" I remembered that voice as Marcus. I cringed because the guy looked at me and walked away.
The four joys ran up to me surprised. "Hi Ashton, Marcus, Wentz, and Chase." I said putting my hands into my pockets.
"When did you get back!" Chase said as they all crushed me in a giant hug.
"C-can't, B-B-breathe!" I gasped put as they all let go, well except for Chase. "I got back today. I have to go to. Mary needs me for a dinner. See you guys at school." I said jogging away.
Why me? If I was sent here for a purpose, what's my purpose God?

I changed into the tight dress. It pushed my breasts up higher, Mary insisted that I wore it. It was nude colored bandage dress with a sweetheart neck. And I wore a black cut out peep toe platform heels, and some jewelry and faint makeup.
I walked down the stairs with my curls bouncing. I never really got the full tour of the house, so while everyone else got ready I strolled through the mansion.
I found a room which was covered in paintings. The walls had quotes written on them, which turned into beautiful art. I saw one blank wall and sparked an idea for another time.
I looked at a part of one wall that looked fresh. It was a tree with everyone's names written on it, including mine.
And in it all, I felt whole again just to be apart of a family.
