We rode in a limo with all the boys in the car. Wentz was also joining us in the event. We sat in silence as Jackson, Wentz, John, and Cameron couldn't keep their eyes off of me, more importantly my chest.

The limo stopped and the driver went to the door and opened it. I saw camera flashes as we stepped out of the car. People shouted out questions like "Ms. Hempy who is she?" And "Who is that?"

I then realized we were on the red carpet. I froze off then realizing everyone who watches all the stations that filmed this were airing it live.

Wentz came up to me and put his hand on the small of my back guiding me into the giant banquet hall. "By the way, you look beautiful." He whispered into my ear sending shivers down my spine.

"Where are all the guards, and mashed potatoes, and trays?" I asked as we sat down at the table.

Everyone looked at me like I was berserk, including Jake. Mary put her hand on mine as I was still confused. "Sweetie, here at banquets we dance, talk, and eat. We have fancy food sent by waiters or waitresses." I nodded my head finally getting what she said.

"Sorry, it's my first banquet." I said moving the left side of my mouth to the side as I shrugged my shoulders.

Mary just smiled as me as her and Vincent left the table. Jake ran off with Keith, while Declan, Ethan, and Adam headed off towards the bar.

I heard the soft music of the cello and violin and the orchestra playing a beautiful symphony. It sounded as if I was in the Sydney opera house.

"I'm going to go get some food." I said standing up because I saw something.

I walked towards the crowd of people as women's jewels the size of my fist gleaned in the lights, almost blinding me.

As I walked over to the table full of tiny portions of food I saw a familiar face serving the food.

"Mom?" I said my voice hushed so only me and her could see. She looked up at me with her deep chocolate eyes. Her smooth wavy hair was set in a bun, while she wore a white undershirt and a black vest with the name 'Garcia' was written on a name tag.

------------------------------------------

"Vanessa. ¿Eres tu?" She spoke in Spanish with a glint of hope in her eyes. I nodded "Sí."

She covered her mouth breathing deeply then fanning herself. She took my hand while trying to hold in her tears, as did myself. "How have you been? Where have you been? Have you seen your father?"

"I've been better, you'll never believe this though." I leaned closer to her. "Nick put me in foster care and I got put with a rich family."

"That explains why your here." She said looking me up and down.

I then hushed my voice so that only she could here me. "No, I haven't seen him. Have you?" I can't believe I was asking her about this, or even telling her anything.

This was the same woman who brought home a new man every night when I was a child, the same woman who was never around, the same woman who never got to see me grow up.

"No. But he tried calling me. You should really visit him Vanessa." She said before handing a man a plate of crab-stuffed lobster tail before winking at him.

"I can't. I just-" I was cut off by a voice.

"Vanessa we don't socialize with the help." Vincent said as he approached me.

I rolled my eyes at my mother, showing how I didn't care. "I'm just ordering something." I said to him turning around.

He finally walked away then I turned to my mother. "I have to go, also, check out the old house while your in town." I said walking away back towards the table.

"Where's your food?" Cameron asked as I sat down.

"I, umm." I said because I totally forgot to get my food. "I saw someone I knew and talked to them. I forgot my food." I said partially lying.

"Care to dance?" John asked me and I smiled as I got up.

"So, why'd you ask me to dance?" I asked as we did the fox trot.

I hadn't really ever had a full on conversation with John before. "Well, we barely ever talk, even though we are the same age, and yeah." He said looking down at me.

"My eyes are up here." I giggled. He smiled and shook his head.

"I am, I'm just too tall." He said to me.

"Well I guess these heels aren't working then." I smirked at him and he just smiled.

Am I flirting? I can't flirt. He's my brother and I could get moved. But he's flirting back.

John is actually a decent guy. He's funny, and a good guy. I had a fun time at the banquet surprisingly and then went home and slept.
