There was a stack of books placed in front of me as my fingers ran across the different keys on my laptops keyboard. Scribbling down notes in one of my textbooks. I loved the town library, it was small yet comfortable and always had a lively smell. I moved my legs into a cross position and started to stretch my lips into a big yawn.
High school without a doubt was a time period of only stress and unimportant memories I'll most probably forget after I graduate.
I jumped as someone's cold hands wrapped around my eyes and the person's hair tickling my cheeks.
"Guess who?" The voice chirped and I laughed aloud smiling to myself. "Mhh is it Malcolm? The man I love so dearly?" I joked making the hands fall off and I swung around in the black, wheeled chair seeing the most emotionless yet sarcastically angry face known in history of time. He hated Malcolm Smiths more than global warming and he was a speaker against ruining the earth, the polar ice caps anything to do with global warming and recycling. He has in his whole nineteen years of living been to more debates about the topic than I can count off and he even made a whole campaign in his 17th year. Gale Freeds. The man my heart chose to be with.
"Yeah well were breaking up"he joked falling down next to me in another chair staring at my report I was working on for History, science and some Shakespear meats English thing for school. "You wanna ditch this and go somewhere else?"he asked slouching back and rubbing his hand down his toned, tanned abs.
I scuffed laughing at his level of comfortability with himself. "I would love that more than the world,seriously...but sadly some of us have high school to finish and I still want to go to college and become a doctor so"I debated and looked back down at one of the randomly opened thick ,vintage books. "Sweetheart you don't have to worry about colleges, your smarter then the kids who were in my grade and probably half of the school, some hospital will snatch you up before you even graduate". He flattered on making a slight plum tan move to my cheeks and I let my short hair freely fall to cover up my crimson skin. I wish Gale was right though, about me getting a scholarship or even a job at a hospital but the real world can't be that simple, especially if you live in such a small town like ours.
"Shit"I cursed softly when the clock mounted onto the wall caught my eye ,half an hour before I have to pick up Sam from primary school. I usually drive over there an hour before considering the schools were in the next town and I usually stop to grab Sam something to eat in the night since our parents aren't to fond about cooking. That or they never come home, before eleven that is. "I have to go pick up Sam!"I told Gale grabbing all my stuff and the books I checked out and hurried away. "Babe!" I heard Gale shout as I climbed into my old blue car. "Can I ride along?easier till tonight"he said leaning into the passengers window. Tonight? Shit I forgot my parents are heading out of town, and Gale agreed to stay with me,since I hate staying alone with Sam, well lately that is.
I nodded smiling softly. He forced open the car door jumping in and slamming it shut, making the metal screech and grind a terrible noise.
I shook my head laughing and roared the engine alive and started driving.
Gale and I would make the smallest conversation while driving and later on waiting for Sam to come out of the small school.
Our town didnt have allot to offer,a hospital and clinic was open,no schools and no big entertainment destination.A park, yes. Library and allot of houses and a small police station where some of the officers stayed 24/7. So Sam and I go to school in the next town over and Gale went to the same high school before he graduated a year ago. That's how the two of us met. Even though he was a year in front of me and a year older we still passed each other during lunch, and while we were shifting periods. I remember it still even to this day. I was a small, shy little girl ,15years old and had at that moment a obsession with medical books and with my grades and yes not much has changed since then of course but moving on. I was parked at a table outside ,reading the pages we had to learn for our biology test we were writing later on that day over and over again. Ignoring the sealed lunch my mum made me the night before. The sun baked against my pale skin and heated my dark colored hair. Im not much a fan of the summer and love the cold winter mornings and even colder growing temperatures. My light was blocked by a human formed shaddow sitting down in front of me. "Ryan right?" A male voice asked. I didn't bother looking up,knowing it was probably some jock trying to score some ,"can you do my homework" help. I just nodded pretending to be focused on my earlier actions, although I stopped reading about organs and plants the second he sat down. "I'm Gale,Gale Freeds. We have lunch and football games together"he said holding out his hand, peeking out from his red jacket that held our school's mascot and the football teams name on it. Not quite an original design and every movie has the similiar jacket . Why our highschool lacks creativity and also why I can't wait to hopefully become a doctor and move away.
