Prologue:
Commander Gora'th was scared. It had been several moments since he heard a sound. He was sure that this time he would have a chance to escape. It was several chrons since he heard anything from the others. Could this be the chance he was looking for? He quickly checked the sensor array to see if anything was on the scope. Not allowing the lack of movement on the scanner to give him a false sense of hope, he none the less breathed a sigh of relief. He checked the positronic interface one more time to insure that it was in proper collaboration. Having satisfied himself that everything was in proper working order, he planned his next move. He examined the face of the scanner and noticed the indicator was reading zeros.
Goran'th wiped his face after examining the scanner. “Again!” He grabbed it off and threw it on the floor. “This is the second time this week.”
"I don't understand what I need to do anymore" cried Goran'th, "Keep it together Commander, don't lose it here, not now"
The Commander walked quickly to the bulkhead, as he heard a sound there. He stood there frozen for a moment as it seemed the main bulkhead seemed to be shimmering. He quickly approached the door and gave it a cursory inspection. Goran'th only had a brief moment of examination before it started to buckle and give way. He backed away in horror as the portal gave way and dozens of his formal colleagues rushed in a frenzy into the command bunker. As the metamorphed creatures tore into his torso, his last thought in his brain was "why?"
