In the near future, astronomers receive an extraterrestrial signal that is rapidly determined to be of intelligent origin. Embedded in the signal is a code that has xenomorphic properties: In essence, it rewrites the the DNA of the host organism via neurophysiological transmorphism. The signal was created by a race of alien beings, known as the Signal Creators, as an efficient method of species propagation through out the galaxy. Upon viewing and understanding the signal, the host species is rapidly converted into an almost exact replica of the Signal Creator species. This process has been going on for countless eons. Now for some reason, there is a complication with the human race. This conversion process is not 100% perfect, as only a minor percentage of humanity actually has the compatible gene structure to be converted perfectly into the Creator species. An even smaller percentage are immune to the conversion process but still get some unexpected benefits as their DNA is being rewritten. The vast majority of humanity however changes into a mutation of early Human/Creator species with extremely aggressive and violent behavior. Mankind's civilization rapidly collapses as the unchanged humans strive for survival and escape while the Creator race desperately tries to rectify the situation. The story will be mainly be told thru the eyes of an unchanged human named Thom.
