I don't know what to think of that rainbow haired bitch.

She was terrifying as hell, I'll agree with Josh, I think as my hand rose to the cheek she hit. It was sore and was still stinging with pain.

But I can't lie- she is pretty hot. Her confidence was attractive.

I probably shouldn't have been such a dick to her.

"Oi, Simon! Over here, mate," Josh calls from his locker and I saunter across the hall to him.

"She's pretty, that girl," he says to me and shuts the metal door and spins the lock.

"She's okay. I've seen better," I say and lean against the locker.

"I don't know, she seems different. It's like she's out of place."

"What'd you mean?"

"I don't know, she stands out more than others."

"It's just the hair that makes her noticeable. She'd be a ghost without the dye."

"Simon, you do realize that there's more to her than just her appearance, right?" he questions me slowly.

"What are you playing at Josh? You're dating Freya." He shrugs.

"I'm just saying that you shouldn't separate her from everyone else just because she looks different." I scoff.

"Whatever, mate."

That's how it's supposed to work. No one looks under the wrapping paper, beautiful or ugly.

"No football tryouts, Si?"

"Nah, the tryouts are next month. The school wants us to focus on getting used to coming here every day again before letting us do sports."

"Are we going to your house or mine?" Josh asks as we walk down the hall to the double doors.

"Mine. The boys are waiting at my house."

"Damn, they must be wondering where we are."

"No, they're preoccupied using my Xbox to play Fifa. I doubt they'll have any concern as to why we aren't there," I say truthfully and shove the metal doors open while Josh chuckles at how right I am.

We walk to my red Ford Fiesta and toss out backpacks in the back seats, climbing into the front.

"Damn, it's already half past three? We stayed at school for ages," he says with surprise as I back out of the parking lot.

"Why were you staying at school for so long, Josh?" I ask and roll down the windows- it was hot as hėll.

"I had no clue how to do the homework for Karter's," he says with embarrassment.

"Josh, mate, what did they teach you in primary school? Surely you know how to read instructions," I joke and he frowns, shoving me against the door.

"Oi, chill, I'm trying to drive."

"Shut the fuck up, Simon," he snaps and I laugh.
