The thumping of the music matched Luke's racing heart. His ears rattled, eyes widening at the sight in front of him.

"It's okay, beautiful. I'll stay with you all night." Michael murmured, lacing their fingers together. Knives seemed to cut through his heart as he spoke. Guilt is a bitch.

Calum's mansion stood a few yards away, flashing lights and wasted people galore. Michael always dreaded coming back here, especially since it had to do with his "job".

He couldn't even bring himself to look at Luke as they made their way to the front door. He hated the curious, terrified emotion printed in the blonde's eyes. But Michael didn't have a choice.

Luke tightened his grip on the punk's hand when the guards standing by the door stopped them.

"It's just me, assholes." Michael snapped. Luke slowly scooted himself behind Michael and used his free hand to grab his shirt.

"We know who you are, Clifford...who's that?" One of the men gestures towards Luke, causing the younger to flinch. He couldn't quite figure out why someone needed to guard their house if it was just a simple party.

Michael leaned forward, speaking in a low tone that made goosebumps raise on Luke's skin. "Calum should've told you. He's on the list."

The words made no sense to Luke. Yet the guard seemed to understand perfectly because he instantly backed off, flicking his head towards the door.

Michael rolled his eyes and began to lead Luke through, but the blonde stopped. "Mikey, I-I don't want-..."

Michael turned around, a soft smile playing on his lips. "Hey, hey. I'm not gonna let anything happen to you, remember?" He said smoothly, his voice was velvet. The raven boy raised his hand to cup Luke's face, brushing his thumb against the pretty skin. "I won't leave you."

Luke leaned into Michael's touch. He trusted Michael, though it didn't help the nerves eating away at his stomach. He opened his mouth to insist about leaving but the sound was brusquely cut off by Michael's lips.

Luke let out a small gasp of surprise as their lips connected, an explosion of sparks lighting up his vision. He carefully kissed back, unsure of himself as his eyes fluttered closed.

Michael was obviously experienced as his mouth moved so surely against Luke's. It made the smaller boy more blissfully unaware of his surroundings. He was floating in the dream Michael created, not understanding his fearlessness of nightmares because something worse had chased them away. An emotional connection that meant everything to Luke, meant nothing to Michael.

Luke's only wish was that the kiss had lasted longer when the punk pulled away. "Do you trust me?" He breathed. Luke was still a bit dazed so he shyly nodded, biting down on his lip. Michael was his personal brand of addiction. So he thought.

Liar. You will hurt him. You will ruin him. And there will be nothing left.

Michael squeezed his eyes closed for a brief moment to rid himself of his relentless mind. Luckily, the music quickly blanketed them, there was no point in thinking with the blaring sound.

Michael's eyes scanned the crowd for any sound of Calum as Luke clung to him. He knew the raven boy would be watching, as usual. The punk was unaware of how he stopped moving until someone was tugging on his sleeve.

"A-Are you okay?" Luke shouted. Even with the loud noises Michael could hear the slight tremble his voice. He needed to get the blonde to relax.
