Chapter 1
Today was the day, today was the day I became a free woman. Young lady actually I'm only sixteen. I was ready and beyond excited. It was a very hot August day and I wearing black mid-thigh shorts with a white tank top and a red flannel over it. I wore my hair in a messy bun,I really didn't feel like messing with my curly hair. I put my heart necklace. It was only 10:30 I still I still had time till the appointment. I was so excited, which is crazy cause who be excited to see their orthodontist, but then again my braces are coming off so... That was something to be ecstatic about, right? Or am I the only one.
I went down stairs to be greeted by my parents in the kitchen. I kissed each of them on the cheek and asked how their morning was so far.
I took out the ingredients for my favorite smoothie, my mouth just waters thinking about it. Once I got the blender in I put the blueberries, strawberries, pineapples and mangos and started to blend.
I looked over at my dad who was drinking coffee and reading the news paper on his tablet, and my mom who was sitting in the couch drinking tea and watching property brothers- man I love that show! I shook my head at the fact that mom drank tea while dad and I preferred coffee.
Taking out a cup and pouring my smoothie in. Mmmm delicious, I rest my chin on my dad's shoulder-with difficulty- and gave him a smile. He chuckles.
Moving to the couch where my mother was I snuggle up to her and watch the show with her. My mom loves Jonathan Scott, she loves his handy work and if she weren't married to dad she would totally go for Jonathan, my dad scowled at this. I personally love Drew Scott , my interior designer, I don't know man, there's just something about him.
Mom always made dad watch the new episodes with us, he hated it cause we would always fangirl over what they did, like two band obsessed teenagers.
He still watched them with us, cause even though we love them both, dad will always be the man to carry out hearts, as cheesy as it sounds, and he always said we would never have a chance so there's that.
Mom and I were watching episode 1 season 8 Downtown Dreaming, Suburban reality.
My dad walked into the living room, he was in his uniform.
"They called in on the police station and need me to go down there and see what's going on, I'll be back in a few hours."
I looked at him and got up, I hugged him and gave him a sad smile.
"You'll be back, right? Promise you'll be back."
"I promise I'll be back, you have to forgive me for what happened two years ago." He frowned as he remember that day.
" I do and I know dad, but you can't stop me from worrying, just be safe okay?"
"I know baby girl, take care of your mother while I'm gone, don't let her fall in love with Jonathan while in gone." He smiled and I laughed.
"Too late for that dad, she's in way too deep, but you have her heart."
He shook his head and looked over at mom then at me.
"I love you flame fish."
"I love you too batman."
Dad walks over to my mom and kisses her forehead, they whisper something to each other and she laughs, my dad gives us one last look and walks out the door.
Just when I was about to sit my phone rang, it was my orthodontist assistant.
"Hi is this Storm Ariel Cooper?"
