Chapter TwoThe dude in front of me was unrecognizable. You couldn't even see his face well with all the blood that was covering it, but I knew those eyes and uniform.
"Dad?! Are you okay? What the hell happened to you? Please tell me this isn't your blood and you just shot some bad guy."
Mom was already up and checking on him to see if he has any wounds, she sighed in relief, my shoulders visibly sagged.
My dad chuckles at the sight of us. "Girls, I'm fine there was only a mishap at the jail facility down from the police station, shit was a fucking blood bath."
I laughed relieved he was okay. My mom scowled at my dad's profanity, but smiled afterwords.
The smell hit me like a ton of bricks and I put a hand over my mouth to stop me from gagging..
"Ugh, dad take a shower, you reek of what ever that dude had in his blood."
Dad just laughed. "Alright flame fish, calm down."
I turned around as my dad went up the stairs and saw Cameron coming down greeting my father along the way with a weird look. Nash and Hayes who stood beside the stairs greeted him normally, like it was nothing that he was covered in blood.
"So I know we have a problem at hand, well not necessarily, but just for precaution. When dads done showering, we'll talk about it and see what we'll do, I mean it's going on in New York and New Jersey, we still have time."
I looked at my mom, Hayes, Cameron and Nash and they all nodded agreeing.
I spoke up again. "I can't promise that it'll be okay, but I can assure you, we'll be together for whatever comes our way."
Taking a shaky breath I pulled them in for a hug, after a while I pulled away.
"So who's ready for dinner, I'm making my special pasta."
I grinned knowing it was everyone's favorite dish of mine.
That seemed to break the tension and I smiled feeling accomplished, I turn to Hayes.
"Stay with me in the kitchen, you're probably the only one I can stand watch me cook besides mom." He chuckled
"Yea sure, any thing for you Ariel." I smiled
I enter the kitchen and take the ingredients out as Hayes sits down.
Hayes and I always seem to have a better connection than Nash and I. We'd always been close since I moved to North Carolina despite the fact that they were both famous, Hayes was always the one coming back to me with open arms. I was born and raised in New York, but then something happened that caused us to move here. When I first met Nash and Hayes, their career seemed to be sprouting, were all still close though. Three years ago Nash and I had a fight, because he was leaving to live in LA and some other stuff that I don't want to think about, but after that it was like the connection broke and we couldn't reach each other, not that I wanted to or anything. I think.
Hayes stares at me as I move the pasta and put the top on, I move over to make the sauce.
"What is it Hayes?" I sighed already knowing.
"You guys need to sort things out Ariel, not only for the both of you, but for my sake too. Do you know how hard it is to have a best friend and a brother be mad at each other? It puts me on the spot cause I don't like to let any of you down."
I turn around to look at him and give him a sad smile.
"Haze... I understand what you're saying and I'm truly sorry you feel that way, but no one asked you to choose. I'm not asking you to choose... I wouldn't mind if you chose your brother over me, I mean like, come in he's your blood."
