Darling,

I remember those nights we used to cuddle up on the couch and watch my favorite baseball team's games together, sharing a bowl of buttery microwave popcorn. Do you know how much I miss those nights?

Now, imagine you're at the baseball field, watching a game. You hear the crack of a bat on a ball. The chaotic roar of the fans. Everyone staring off into the distance watching as the ball flies towards the clouds, hoping it'll make it past the fence, while others hope it falls short. The disappointment of the Cubs fans when it doesn't make it. The cries of victory from the opposing team.

Now pretend I'm that ball.

Flying, headed towards the clouds. The chaos of life far behind me. And things start looking up for me.

But I fall short.

Just like I always do.

I remember whenever a ball was hurtling towards freedom, I would shout, "Its going, it's going... And it's gone!" And proceed to do my silly victory dance that made your face light up like the stars dripping from a summer night sky.

I'm going to keep on going, just for you darling.

I'm going to keep going and going, until you're gone.
