Keeping Up With Dan

1. Dan Lucas

Taylor's P.O.V.

Hmm..  I'm pacing back and forth in the kitchen trying to figure out what to do about my feelings.  You see, I really like this boy, actually love him, but he loves me like a friend and a friend only.  His name is Dan Lucas. 

I'm so lost in thought that I don't even notice that I'm standing right in front of the kitchen's window.  The big window with no curtains that I can see through to the Lucas's kitchen.  Standing right at the window opposite mine is Dan Lucas.  Of course, it's just my luck.  I almost laugh at the weird coincidence.  Well I bet the world is just laughing at me right now.  I should really go thank the man who built the Lucas's house and mine.  I'd tell him how thankful I am that I can creep on Dan and he can creep on me.  NOT!!!

The fact that our kitchens face each other and his house is right next door with that big window just horrifies me.  I always seem to do something stupid in front of that window and not even realize he's looking, but then later he'll tell me about it and I'll feel like a complete idiot.

I feel my phone vibrate, so I reach into my pocket and grab it.  A message pops up saying "1 New Message."  Hmm.  I bet I know who that's from!  I open the message and immediately grimace in horror at the text.

You like what you're seeing?  You've been checking me out for the last 10 minutes!  Shouldn't you have taken a picture by now?  So you can blow it up nice and big and cover your walls with it, and kiss it all the time saying "Dan Lucas, Dan Lucas!  I looooooove you!"

Oh shut up!  I was daydreaming, not checking you out!

Huh..  Daydreaming?  Is that what they call it now a days..  Hmm..  What exactly WERE you daydreaming about?  Aww.. It was about me wasn't it? 

I watch him as he's typing.  He stops typing for a minute to look down at himself before typing again.

Well I hope it wasn't dirty..  I am in my underwear over here!  Or was it these awesome abs?

For the last time.  I wasn't checking you out!  I wasn't even thinking about you!  Big big lie, but it's not like it actually matters.  Ew!  Get your head out of the gutter!  He's in his underwear?  I look up and sure enough he's standing there in boxers and as he sees me looks he grins.  Ah crap.  I just had to look...  Urg!  Curse my stupidity!  I don't care about your abs!  Send.

Yeah yeah sure.  Whatever you say Tay-Babe.  You looking pretty nice yourself.

Oh I see how it is!  You can check me out, but I can't check you out?  That isn't fair!

I sigh.  Boys.  I don't know about everyone else, but they drive me crazy!  Anyway, back to my thoughts.  Dan and I have been friends since we were 5 and now we're 15.  Dan and I were always pretty close, but lately I think we've been closer than ever.  That chat earlier is just proof that we care.  You know it's real friendship when you can say all kinds of things to each other and no one gets offended. 

So I've had a crush on Dan for a while.  Almost every girl in school does, if not all of them.  Dan is very handsome with his messy brown hair and blue eyes.  He's also all on the taller side and quite fit.  Dan is captain of the soccer team despite him only being a sophomore as well as a section leader in band.  He plays trombone.  Come to think of it, Dan is kind of like a mix between a nerd, jock, and a regular guy all in one.  Pretty weird, right?  Yeah I know, just try being friends with him. 

Other things that you should know about him is that he also has a band with his two friends (Dan sings and plays guitar), he's an all A student (in all AP classes), and lastly, he's very random and weird sometimes.
