(Death Trigger Warning :3)

❝It's not the day they died that hurts, it's all the days after~ ❞
Imagine The Doctor looked across the pavilion, unshed tears glazing his eyes over. His eyebrows were in the familiar frown, but his mouth was drawn downwards his lips quivering. He dropped his sight downwards staring at the stone tiles that blocked the short grass of the graveyard. The murmurs of the vicar and the small sniffs of the other invites were mere background music to his thoughts. A rumble of thunder didn't even startle the young Scot. The cliche rain began to fall, a few cries were heard, but The Doctor's mouth stayed glued shut as he was scared to open it, in fear of sobbing. The large pattering of feet told him people were running past him. Splashes of ignored mud speckled across the bottom of his pin-striped trousers and across his converse.
A swirl of sharp wind stabbed him in the cheek causing him to plunge his hands further into his pockets. Rain blurred his vision and he momentarily cursed himself for not bringing some coverage. His sight finally rose, his dull caramel eyes immediately spotting the shiny wood across from him. He slowly walked up to it, his head lowered, his face void of expression.
He stood next to the box, looking down on the rain dropped covered surface; the only splash of colour coming from the soaked roses on the centre. The Doctor bit his lip to stop the rising emotion in his throat. Roses. He lifted a trembling hand to rest on the lid and stroke the smooth silky surface with a kind thumb. He allowed a tear to slip down his face, hidden in the rain. The corners of his mouth rose slightly at a small thought of irony, ignoring the sharp pain in his chest.
He removed his hand, brought his hand to his lips and felt the coldness of his own fingers. He mumbled a small promise into them before pressing them onto the coffin. He swiftly turned and walked backwards to the large tree near the grave. he leaned against its thick trunk, the large leaves sheltering him from the vicious rain. He returned his hand to his pocket, vainly wishing someone was there t o hold it. Sighing deeply, he looked to his right and saw a small river flowing through the valley below him. It ran under a bridge. He admired it for moment, feeling a familiar connection to it. The railing was simply thin columns with strings weaving through them; ceramic flowers stuck out at places of the clay rope, giving it a romantic feel.
A small memory ran though his mind, making a small watery smile flicker across his lips.

"Where are you taking me at this hour?" He shouted, as he was dragged across a hill by his hyperactive friend. Well, of course not friend. Friends leave him. She was a companion nothing more. Or so he always thought.
"You'll see, Doctor!" You shouted back eagerly pulling him down the steep him, causing The Doctor to stumble for a moment. "This is my favourite place..."
After many shouts of protest by The Doctor and your adoring laughter, they finally made it to their destination. The Doctor looked curiously at the simple landmark.
"A bridge?" He asked perplexed. You smiled and nodded pulling The Doctor over onto it."You always show me such amazing places, so I thought I would return the favour." You said silkily her words laced with delight.
You leaned on the railing, your hands, now unlocked from The Doctor's, clasped together as she used her elbows for support. She dropped her posture, leaning her legs out to keep balance. The Doctor admired her, looking over her perfect physique and watched lovingly at her soft eyes looking across the horizon. He stubbornly shook his head trying to clear his thoughts.
"Why are we here, at all times, to stand on a bri-" His sentence was cut of abruptly by you catching his chin in her hand and turning it to the view. "Woah." He muttered. You chuckled at his adorable shocked face.
Woah was right. The bridge was placed between two large hills, framing the scene in front of them. The view was wide open allowing the light to come rushing at them. The setting sun was slowly blinking out allowing its last colours to flow across the sky. Red, pink, orange and gold ribbons weaved across the sky, the fluffy clouds mirroring their vibrant colours. The flowing ocean beneath them, spilled the colours onto the shore as if it was paint, fluffy foam billowing onto the gold sand like marshmallows on a shmore.
The Doctor pulled his gaze away from the sunset to a staring you. He blushed as he realised you had been staring at him. He stuttered out a couple of words, but they were silenced as your hand curled around his. Another was placed on the side of his face, brushing his fallen hair out his wide eyes. Your's were slightly lidded as you leaned closer to his face, The Doctor too shocked to move.
"The sunrise is so beautiful in your eyes." She said softly, her twinkling eyes boring into his own. The Doctor blushed again, but moved his finger to subtly move across your hand.
You leaned in slowly, giving The Doctor plenty of time to move back, which he definitely didn't think of doing, his eyes sliding to a close. The Doctor heart thumped painfully and his stomach churned anxiously. His Scottish stubbournness kicked in as he watched you drag out your movement to get closer to his lips, and he closed the gap, pressing his lips tenderly to hers. You moved your lips against his timidly, your hand drifting from his cheek to cup his jaw bringing your face closer to his. The Doctor hesitantly moved his hand to hold your hand against his jaw, feeling his soft skin beneath his hands.
~~
The Doctor forcibly ripped himself from the now painful memory. He shook his head, turning away from the bridge and leant his head back against the tree. He needed you to be here. He craved you. He needed you to hold him tight and whisper comforting things into his temple. He need you to be there to stop him. Stop him form going too far.
The Doctor dropped to his knees, ruining the knees of his trousers instantly, pressing his palms against his face. A sob racked through his body as he let it slip from trembling lips. His body shook with mostly silent sobs, loud ones occasionally piercing the rain filled silence. Who does he have now?*************
